Default Trunk Closed and Actuator Removed! Please Help!

Hello,

I was removing the trunk actuator to see if it was the cause of a grinding noise. I put everything back less the actuator so I can test it to see if the sound went away, but now I cant get the trunk open. I tried the manual release under the trunk mats inside the car, but nothing is happening? My car is a 2017 if it makes any difference.

Thank you for any help you can provide.

If nobody comes up with an answer, there should be an exploded view in the FSM (link in my sig). Might get lucky and find a procedure for this situation.

There is a pull cord to open the hatch ..you will have to pull the carpet up and it is in the spare tire area driver side ....I did something similar....it was very hard to pull..but it opened mine ..which is a 2017 as well

Was it a metal type thing that was attached with a piece of velcro? Was your actuator out too?
