Hey dude, thanks for the info!

So if I was to also get some custom style GT3 RS undercarriage panels produced, I could then have this rear panel over the glass as well to reduce the parachute effect.

OK, so maybe I'm picturing what you want wrong since the area behind the glass on a Z opens into the cargo area. Are you thinking you'll put a vent there and then run some kind of duct through the cargo area to the undercarriage in some kind of attempt to gain rear downforce? Did I follow that right? Please tell me I'm not reading you right because it almost seems like you've never opened the hatch and looked around, or looked under the car at all the mechanical bits to see why this would not work.

There’s a perfect meme for this somewhere

Hey, I am referring to the vents that sit just below the rear glass that contains the brake light.

Ok, so I'm not picturing it wrong.

I was not going to run anything to the ducts through the cargo area, I was just going to bolt it on over the top of the glass, this would still help down force right?

How would a vent to nowhere help anything at all? The vent is not what provides downforce, the air moving thorough it is.

Through aerodynamics / the shaping of it.

I think you're confusing drag for downforce. The short answer, to save you time, is that your idea will not work, and you should spend your time thinking about other things.

Thanks for the info! So if I want this to work really I should apply the front and rear GT3 RS bumpers, and somehow route airflow through the cargo area right?

No. You should stop wasting time thinking about any of what you’ve talked about. If you want downforce, buy a wing and front splitter.

or just . . .

buy a Porsche?

because this is alot of pipedreaming about **** you don't understand

this is probably a waste of time

but

I really, REALLY doubt you're doing the kind of driving (i.e. on a TRACK) where this sort of aerodynamic **** is gonna make a lick of difference

and before even getting that far, there are MANY, MANY things that affect the car WAY more than a fuckin' vent in the back stolen from a totally different (race engineered) car.

#1 would be the driver - you - who appears clueless. So improving that would be a big help

#2 and everything is . . . the engine, the suspension, brakes, tires, hell, safety tech, if you're even doing that sorta thing

but back to everyone's point

it sounds like you should STOP ASKING THESE STUPID ******* QUESTIONS and read and learn about how cars work

maybe go to a track day and ride with an instructor , other experienced drivers. rent a spec miata.
