Amuse Wing to APR?
Hi,
I'm thinking about switching out my Fly1 CF Amuse wing to an APR wing because I've heard that it has better function, so I've been toying around with getting the GTC300 or 250 paired with some custom front splitter / rear diffusers. Does anyone know how well the APR wings do in terms of DF vs Amuse? or had experience with both on the track? Side note: Amuse wing would leave a lot of holes.... would it be hard to patch it up |
Unless you are serious about tracking your car and you actually need the functionality of a GT wing then just stick with the amuse wing. You would have to patch all the holes in your hatch left from the old wing and repaint the entire hatch. It would get pricey.

So I actually just swapped the same coloured base hatch with someone else who wanted to buy my amuse wing and installed the APR wing which was convenient and no cost. However I'm getting a little more understeer than I would like now even at 0 AOA..

but I have an amuse bumper coming in a couple months (or whenever amuse decides to make it), and probably adding an aeroblitz splitter or a custom made one to try to balance it out. there might be things I could do with the suspension in the rear too, or maybe more neg camber for better turn in |
Do not put a wing on the rear unless you have a splitter and canards in the front. Because you will load the rear and lift the front at speed.

The 09-14 nismo wing generates something like 150 lbs of downforce, i read that in an article a while back but can't find it anymore. Versus several hundred lbs of downforce generated by a GT wing. I've known people who have had to reinforce their hatch and had to put padding over the rear tail lights because the downforce was pushing the hatch down so much that the lights were cracking and the hatch was beginning to buckle. Like everyone else said, don't run a GT wing without a chassis mounted front splitter. You won't be doing yourself any favors. |

Also, at above 100 mph even the Nismo wing quits producing downforce. To optimize downforce you need to lower the car at least an inch to 2 inches as well. |
