I'm not saying it's aliens....

If I let it continue to creep my face would smash through the windshield (joke), so I've always set it back. At the very least it would be uncomfortable to drive - and possibly dangerous. Thanks for the helpful suggestions and support, guys. I shall continue to collect data. I've repositioned the tape and now that it's stopped raining I'll go outside and lock/unlock several times, on both doors, to see if anything happens. |

But if you need to, maybe, you start with the seat just a bit farther back in your testing to allow for that second "creep". This might not be too bad since you don't have to deal with a clutch pedal. |
It moved 0.6 of an inch. Even a small amount like that is sufficient for it to feel wrong.
I've just tried locking/unlocking the car several times, but the seat didn't move, so I'm counting that out, partly because it's crept forward in the past without me locking/unlocking the car a lot. I'm starting to think that the seat switch might be faulty, making an occasional contact somehow. I've started making a time/date/movement chart in Word :) . Still got 2 years warranty and I know how Main Dealers like evidence! |
Nothing personal but are you overweight??? If so, your seat may not like you. I would be
careful, It might buck you out, like a horse. |

I'm 154 pounds. Is that overweight? Maybe my username deceived you - it has nothing to do with weight :) As for the rest of your post, I never thought I'd use the following emoji... :horse: |

I would say for best scientific method, rip the tape in two (one side on the moving side another side of the stationary side), draw a line through both pieces. Then you can see the lines separate after movement.

Am curious to see what the culprit is of the creep issue is. |
I don't have seat creep...but I do have seat drop. This phenomena is when you adjust you seat to its highest level and still your too low and those two elephant ear side view mirrors essentially block everything at the front from the left and right side angles....:shakes head:
|
You can raise the seat. There is a thread or a DIY somewhere.
|
I still don't think it's the drive slipping. My guess is that something is activating the motor every now and then. A friend's dog will push console/armrest buttons every now and then.

Since you don't know a lot about electricity, I'd suggest downloading the FSM and showing the wiring diagrams to an electrically-minded friend. |
Possible there is an ever so slight surge when you turn it on that is the cause? I still say unplug the seat harness and see if it continues to 'creep'. If not then you've narrowed the scope of your investigation. If it does then it points the opposite way. At least you are no longer battling the chaos of unlimited possibilities that way.

Update.
It's moved again. Here's today's photo... http://i53.photobucket.com/albums/g7...20Movement.jpg Now that I've seen it twice, with photographic evidence, I'll be getting in touch with the dealer - the car's still under Nissan warranty. |

I will say get a camera to record all the time just to see no one is playing a joke on you.
Also when you get to the seat how you like it try move it by hand without using any levers. Just to see that it clicks and stop as you like it. I had a very old car that the seat bracket was not holding the seat very well and if I was parking on a hill or something like that it will move. I hope you will find it soon man!
