thanks for posting.

i misread your initial response and posted that comment. then quickly deleted it lol.

It seems like that part number covers the cubby shelf bit as well as the front of the assembly, so we just need to determine what exactly is the correlating part number for the nav version of this assembly. Apparently there are a LOT of very similar part numbers so it isn't quite as straight forward as it should be.

If I have a chance I'll stop by the dealership one of these days and ask.

I have my nexus 7 (2012 version, cost like $60 to buy and is in great operating condition) completely set up and ready, I've just been lazy about finishing the set up. USB ROM for Nexus 7 is perfect for setting up a Nexus 7, and you can get the 2012 version for free if you search. It doesn't have any more continued updates, but it's free. I believe there is a 2013 version released but costs some money. It has more support for it. Little fuzzy on the details though I did all this set up/research back in August.

Here is a link for some info:

Here is how I set up my Nexus:

It turns on automatically with car boot if its plugged into power and will immediately shut off into a deep sleep mode when power is stopped. Mine is set up to use torque with an OBD32 plug via bluetooth, but dash command is also viable. The biggest cost would be trying to make it look OEM like which is what I'd like. Wish there was a plug and play option.

Just messing around a while back with positioning and how it felt to use while driving and all.

check out my post in the audio&video forum. or even my pic i posted a few pages earlier of my tablet integration.

The only downside with going with a Nexus 7 Gen 1 and Gen 2 is that they are discontinued and hard to find in good shape. I did have a user wanting to use Gen 2 and I have a design for it. Hopefully I can get my stuff up and running soon to sell, but you'd have to at least upgrade to a Nexus 7 Gen 2 if you like my design.

It should be cheaper than that.

It should be this one for just the cubby and lid:

what's ridiculous is the cost of the nismo version for my year...almost 700 USD lol

That's not the part im looking for either.

I want the NAV Bezel part ,without the entire bezel. The area i cropped below:

yeah, and the radio must sit lower since the face plate around the radio sits lower in all the nav pictures too.

From taking mine off this morning it looks as though either the cubby or the nav bezel comes attached to the front finished piece as part of the assembly. The vent ducts screw on but otherwise looks like it comes together.

After you unscrew the vent ducts you can remove the cubby. The lid also comes off.

Thanks for clearing that up. Couldn't tell without unscrewing those vents.

Which means it should be as simple as swapping out the cubby tray for nav bezel. Provided the dealer will sell it as such.

This is exactly what I'm hoping to do. It looks like this problem has been solved before but there's no documented information on that particular part number.

It seems like we may actually have to purchase the WHOLE thing to get the Nav Bezel. I'm going to have my center console 3d scanned in the coming weeks and see if I can produce a 3d-printable Nav/Screen bezel.

I molded a box out of carbon fiber to fit in the space here. Then skinned the mdf faceplate out of carbon fiber.

I have seen a couple people place a box in this space but I dont think anyone has made one out of carbon. I'll post a full build thread when i sort all my pictures.

Yeah I checked out your thread, and commented on it. I had expressed interest in buying it if it came out for the tablet I had, or at least decently close and I can modify it to my own use. I would have gotten the Gen 2, but I found a near perfect condition Gen 1 and it's already set up the way I want it. So I'll either modify yours or try and just find an alternate way.

Not a huge mod. However, sometimes just a accent makes a big difference in the interior.
I did carbon fiber inside door barrel covers with matching gauge(3 on the das)cove covers.
Just gives a hi-tech look to my Z34. An added plus is the durabilty from the barrel covers.
My old Z33 had scratches on the barrels--ugh!
ebay has e'm for about 50 bucks shipped.

sco i know this is kinda old, but have you decided to go forward on 3d printing bezels for these? ive been looking to do this for a couple of years now. Not really that interested in cutting/epoxying mine to do so though.
