Interest: Alcantara Wrapped Steering wheel + Interior bits
Hey Folks,
I'm currently in contact with JPM Coachworks, which some of you may remember did Bullitt's interior a while back. I was talking with Alex from JPM about doing a group buy for the370z.com and he said sure as long as there was enough interest. EDIT: Here are Bullitt's pics. http://www.the370z.com/attachments/e...r-img_6905.jpg http://www.the370z.com/attachments/e...r-img_6906.jpg http://www.the370z.com/attachments/e...r-img_6907.jpg http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/DSC_3646.jpg http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/DSC_3647.jpg http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/DSC_3648.jpg http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/DSC_3650.jpg http://i234.photobucket.com/albums/e...7/DSC_3659.jpg Here are some other examples of their work for different cars. http://www.jpmcoachworks.com/catalog...i_wheel_04.jpg http://www.jpmcoachworks.com/catalog...lc.aplr.02.jpg http://www.jpmcoachworks.com/catalog/images/Dash2.jpg http://www.jpmcoachworks.com/catalog...s/Diamond2.jpg They can do a lot more than just the steering wheel for those who are interested. As far as pricing goes, this is what I got from Alex. Quote:
Keep in mind you will NOT lose electronic steering wheel controls and you will NOT lose your airbags as you would with an aftermarket racing wheel. You get the feel of a racing wheel without losing the stock functionality. Honestly, if any of you have ever felt a racing wheel or a BMW sport alcantara wrapped wheel you know what this is all about. Feels comfortable, sporty and it doesn't slip and slide everywhere like the leather one can. Also for you folks in very hot or very cold weather, no more having to hold a freezing cold / scorching hot wheel when you get back in the car. So let me know what you guys think and I'll relay the info back to JPM Coachworks. Also if you guys want to see my pictures go to JPMCoachworks | Automotive Redesign Studio - Genunine Alcantara, Suede and Leather Products, Services and Complete Interior Design - JPMUSA.com EDIT: Pricing for other pieces added: Headliner - 350 Door card inserts - 325 pair Armrest - 45 no stitch 65 w/stitch Knee brace - 85 pair Dash - 650 plain, 950 stitched Door tops - 250 plain, 325 stitched Door bottoms - 375 pair A pillars - 115 pair B/c - 275 pair Seats – 1350 pair Shift boot - $65 Gauge pod covers - $65 per set Center dash stack - $225 Instrument cluster hood - $150 - RCZ |
I'd be in if the pricepoint was a little lower. I love alcantara wheels, but it's not really worth it IMO for almost $400
|
I will have to say Joe and Alex's wheel they did for me is Phenomenal!!! Especially, on the track I have so much more grip and the alcantera is a lot softer too. RCZ has my permission to use my pics and I will see what I can do to get more for you guys. They can also do CF and leather too!
|
Another note: I am going to have Joe and Alex do my airbag cover too! They have a pic of an s2000 steering wheel that is SICK!!!!
|
^ its a lot of work and they place a lot of attention to detail. I will ask them if they can go lower, but honestly, last time I asked another company it was $500 to do one wheel. Its something you're going to be staring at EVERY time you get in the car. I think $375 is not that bad considering what people are willing to pay for other bits they will see once a month when they pop their hoods.
Also this isn't just aesthetic, there's a reason why this type of material is very commonly used in motorsports like WRC and GT. Did I mention Lamborghini agrees? http://www.seriouswheels.com/pics-20...r-1024x768.jpg |
Hmm...I haven't heard of JPM. The quality of their work looks great!
Good luck with the group buy. -Hunter |
Hmm...okay, I'll think about it, but it does look really nice. Suffice that if they do manage to drop the price point slightly, I will definitely be in.
EDIT: Hey Mike, can you PM me how much was the shift boot and the surrounding trim? I was thinking about getting something to put red stitched trim in that area, but wasn't sure where to start....and looks like you beat me to it a long time ago! |
That's beautiful work. Thank you.
|
Yeah, I will have to ask Joe first as I got my stuff through sponsorship but as far as I remember shift boots are like $30-50 bucks
|

Shift boot + Center Dash Stack
|
got it, thanks
|
hummm.... interesting.
im not sure if i like it or hate it. |
Your interior is executed very well Bullitt!! I like how the red stitching on the alcantara compliments the red leather trim so well.
Good choices  Thanks for sharing RCZ...I might have JPM do some interior work for my S2K in the near future. My car is still in Georgia until February; so where is JPM located? -Hunter |
Quote:
I think they are in GA, but I thought I read somewhere that they moved recently. |
yes they are in GA... they moved from smyrna to canton... its like 20min from where they were. I have Joe's cell phone if you need it hunter... BTW Joe owns a s2000 as well and some of their best work is for the s2000. that and the pontiac solstices and saturn sky's!
|
Also, Thank you very much for the compliment Hunter! We have a lot in stored for the interior! The recaros will probably get custom covers made for them from JPM!

I will for sure send you the PM right after this. And yeah I think JPM can do international work but thats a question best left for Joe :D As far as my covers are concerned I was thinking a mix of Alcantara in black and red in a special one off design with intermixed stitching like red stitch on black Alcantara and black stitch on red Alcantara!!! We were thinking of doing a yin yang kinda feeling with the interior with the driver side predominately in red and the passenger side predominately in black. kind of a neat concept  |

I want to make a correction JPM moved to temple, ga.
|
I'd like to know what everyone else thinks around here.
|
That looks sweet!
I especially like the red pieces and the red stitching. |
I really dont care for my stock wheel, really slippery. I may be in if you get enough people. Just drop me a note and see if you can find out how long I'll be down for if I express the wheel to them.
Its easy to pull the stock wheel off right? Thanks for looking out...Really like the all black with red stitching. |
cool^ will do keep it coming guys
|
Hey RCZ you get a response from them on my last comment?
|
Nope, I made sure to ask twice and sent an email specifically about it when I didnt get a response the first time. I think we're gonna be able to get better pricing, etc once we get enough interest.
|
If I had the money to blow (read: if this was one of my many toy cars) I would alcantara the hell out of the interior in a heartbeat.
Dash... doors... everything. But it's not, so I will continue to enjoy my leather and faux-suede. :) |
any pics of the armrest?
|
Great thread!
|
any updates period?
|
I have my headliner done with my boost controller and turbo timer embedded!!! I will see if I can post up a teaser shot.
If people would like their parts recovered let me know and I will get a rolling list going  Joe isn't too far from me and I have known him for years! |
Damn that is some good looking stuff...
