Might not take him that long. Fixing it may be the hard part (but it could just be a connector that needs to be reseated).

I was just saying take it easy until your back is completely healed. Digging through car wiring is not taking it easy on your back. Good luck with your recovery.

Ah. Thank you man I appreciate it

Figured it out. It's the white box underneath the head unit

JARblue 08-17-2016 10:08 AM

Glad you got it figured out

Appliance dolly FTW. I picked up one on sale at Harbor Freight for $60 like 10 years ago. To this day, I swear it's one of the best purchases I've ever made lol.

Yeah after I moved the stove and ****** my back up, my dad asked how it happened and when I told him, he just said "you ******* retard."

replacing that piece didn't do it. I'm sad now. Time to put up the French flag and surrender my car to the Nissan service center

I've narrowed it down to the gauge cluster at this point. Basically bringing it in in hopes of them going "nope just a ****** up diode."

SouthArk370Z 08-21-2016 12:53 PM

IIRC, the gauge cluster is considered one unit with no serviceable parts. :(

But just about anyone familiar with cars wiring should be able to run power through a fuse to the lights. Finding a source that is powered at the proper times will be the hard part and that should be pretty easy with the FSM. :)

Oh I know exactly which wire I'd have to tap into but honestly just don't have the time. If they say it's the cluster then **** it I'll buy one off ebay for $160 with a year warranty on it.

DeliriousClam 08-21-2016 03:50 PM

I just ordered a cluster for $160 with 6-month warranty on it. The way I look at it, if it fixes it, great. If not, I have a cluster to practice changing the LEDs on

I've had the same problem for a couple months. I asked the service department at my local dealership and they have no clue without me paying them to run diagnostics on it. It initially happened when I put an multimeter to the LED in the ambient light. Please let us know if you find a solution because it's driving me crazy.

I know it's been years since you posted this, but I just had all my lights die when I touched a multimeter to the ambient light LED. Did you ever figure it out?
