there is a HUGE difference between random orbital (wat most detailers use including me)
and a direct drive buffer (wat most bodyshops use). with a random orbital it is very difficult to burn through paint. and for me, i put quite a bit of pressure on the pad when polishing. ive yet to burn through paint. people burn through paint easier just by using the wrong tools like cotton towel and paint compound and doing it by hand not knowing wtf they are doing. |
