Hello,
Sooo... recently I encountered a issue with my driver side door lock actuator... Locked me out a couple times and now I finally have the door opened I can change the actuator out.. But the issue is I'm having difficulty in removing the grey panel after removing the plastic door panel. I removed every bolt/nuts I could see. The bottom part of the panel is freely moving. I'm have issues with the top, it won't budge. Looks like a rivet? Has anyone removed this before or know how to? Suggestions? I was told that Id have to use a extractor and take those rivet out. Do you think it would be a good idea to cut it out? cut around the rivets. Last edited by iCydia; 04-20-2016 at 10:56 PM. |

UPDATE:
Eeep. I found another post by Pat C. who drilled out the rivets and it popped open! Source: Accessing inner door panel for Dynamat UPDATE : 2nd Those rivets are meant to be there for the window regulator. I will do a write up on how to remove the inner grey plate, removal of window motor/ removal of window regulator, removal of lock actuator as soon as I receive the parts. Did you drill out the rivets? What else are you having trouble with? It should be pretty straightforward.

No need to drill out rivets. You just have to change the position of the window. (Maybe up, maybe down.) I may also have adjusted the two lock nut/screws that hold the track in. Trust me. I removed my door panel without drilling out rivets. It just takes some trial and error, and elbow grease.
