Your Z needed sunglasses. Weird. I say it is a projector issue. Some of these do get hot. If it is a magnifying effect, we would have heard more of these from folks in AZ, NV, and CA where the sun is out pretty much all the time.

15+ Nismos are rare and being on this forum is even more rare.... And for them to report the issue would be more rare. I wouldn't doubt if they had it too but just didn't post it on here

Just went and checked mine. I do have tiny spots forming on both headlights. Mine is a 2015 I took delivery on Dec of 2014. Only 6k miles and also always garage kept. It's hard to get a picture of it right now with the garage lighting. But same kind of bubbles.

Thanks for checking DPE G. I'm concern that these spots will get worse. Fred Beans Nissan hasn't returned my e-mails or phone calls since Monday, so I don't know what's up. Thinking of what steps I gotta take if they don't stand behind their products

2015+ Nismo black housing headlights peeling
Well after a week, they finally replied. Not what I was expecting .. they want me to purchase a new headlights set from them (wtf), send my defective set back (I'm assuming on my dime) and they will file a warranty claim with Nissan. Takes 30 days they said..If it's approve, then I get my purchase $ back from the new set. I already paid almost $1500 to them already, not comfortable sending them $$$ again, if this is what I gotta go through for defective products. Too bad they're not a vendor on here anymore, no backlash.. I'm at their mercy at this point I think. Anyone got suggestions?

I just went and checked mine as well and they aren't doing that. Mine is a 15, purchased it in November but it's been in the garage for months since it's winter here. I'm only at 3500 miles.
I'll keep it in mind and report back if i see anything forming now that I can drive it again |

2015+ Nismo black housing headlights peeling
Update: Well after being unsatisfied with Fred Beans warranty policies, I contacted Nissan directly and told them my situation. After providing pics, invoices, Vin #, mileage etc they created a case number and looked into it. I was hoping they would just take care of me. They got back to me several days later and said I'd have to have the original dealership (Fred Bean) file a warranty claim, and they can't do anything for me directly. So.. I basically have to buy a new set of headlights from FB, ship the defective ones back to them, they file a claim which takes about 35 days and if approved they'll refund me the costs of the new sets. A hassle of paying for a new set but I'm confident the claim will be approved and I'll get it back.

It's not your DD, right? Are you ok with not being able to drive it for a few weeks (month+)? It's not like it just came out of storage if you're in Florida.
Anyway, I don't see why you have to buy a new pair. Just send them the defective pair, and make them file a warranty claim on it and send you a replacement pair asap. Although, I will say Fred Beans has completely turned upside down in terms of customer service since Jomer left. Jomer was the best, and now it seems like the dealership is just screwing people over since he left. There is a risk with sending back your defective ones to these guys now. Sorry to say. Good luck with whatever decision you make. |
Is there a crappy local dealer that screwed you over before? Get them to order you a new pair, and then just return your old pair and get your money back :stirthepot:
