Default Squeaking noise from the seat

Now I hear some squeaking noise from the bottom of the driver's seat.

I got it greesed at the dealership, but failed to make it silent. They said there's nothing wrong technically on their check.

Anyone have any idea .. ??

The driver side seat has a recall. Nissan uses push clamps under the seat and some become loose causing a squeak due to being loose.

The same thing happened to my seat and it cost me 70 bucks to fix at the dealer, even though the seat was being repaired under the recall. I forgot why the 70 dollar charge was added on.

my seat had the clunking noise per the tsb and i fixed it myself, but no squeaking heard.

dont even need the new star washers. just pound the ones on the seat in more using an impact socket and a hammer/mallet.

Thanks for your link for the info, but that is applied only to 2009. Mine is 2010.

On Nissan USA website, I found no recalls on my Z.

Still confused.

While there are a lot of things that can cause squeaks, it's usually two (or more) pieces of metal/plastic that are rubbing together. You might try tightening every fastener you can reach without pulling the seat but things could probably use a good clean-and-lube anyway.

Personally, I'd avoid the WD40-type products (light oils) and stick with a heavy grease but whatever works for you.

I'd happily use WD-40 for the cleaning portion of "clean-and-lube". But I'd definitely go with a heavy grease for the lube portion. WD-40 is not a lubricant.

Excellent point. It would definitely help clean the old lube out of the way. Thanks.
