Default Carbon fiber hood on 40th

I've done a lot of searching and have found minimal pics of anyone doing a carbon fiber hood on a 40th anniversary. If anyone knows of any on here, please share!

I've got a lot of chips on my hood, and one is very large, and I'm guessing it's going to be expensive to fix. I'm thinking a CF hood may be a good alternative, assuming it won't chip just as badly.

What are your guys thoughts? I know that Seibon isn't 100% CF, but i've seen a few installed on here and it looks great. Just wondering how good CF will look on 40th paint.

CF matches with the 40th paint better than any other color, imo. With a lot of carbon pieces, you can't even tell it's CF until you get up close- it blends that well with the 40th color.

Seibon makes decent CF hoods- just be prepared to get it clearcoated at a paint shop (it comes with a gel coat only) if you don't want it to yellow from sun exposure.

I agree with chesire-- 40th + CF looks sick.

If you want a prime example of how CF would look on a 40th, go check out Nitrouz's car. It looks amazing!

Nitrouz's is plain weave carbon, almost all hoods are going to be 2x2 twill.
Look around in here and you will see my 40th, theres a good pic of the raw carbon in the lip against the paint color so you can see.

Thanks for all the feedback guys. I agree after looking at those pics that CF matches really well with the 40th!

My only hesitation now is after researching Seibon and VIS hoods, there are a lot of negative comments such as fading, fitment, etc. I would like to get a CF hood to avoid painting my current hood, but I don't want that to open up a whole new set of issues. Sounds like I may be okay if I get a Seibon and put an extra layer of clear coat on.

Good news! Nissan actually covered my factory hood under warranty and repainted it for me! Got it back yesterday and it looks great! Now just waiting on my FI exhaust to get here...
