Nice, where did you get those from? Install Pics!!!

JNguyen 10-26-2009 07:07 PM

Wow sick! I'm assuming you got this done at the same place Igor@180custom did? I see the same background as his.

NYBladeZ 10-26-2009 07:17 PM

won't be installed yet guys, we're working on it

nogoodname 10-26-2009 07:18 PM

It has to be 180 customs, I remember the Genesis wall in Igor's other posts.

How's the fitment so far on this CF kit?

NYBladeZ 10-26-2009 07:21 PM

nope, not 180customs, I wish I could share details but I'm going to let him do that, he's worked very hard, just to clarify, its a cf replacement not stock pieces wrapped in cf.

theDreamer 10-26-2009 07:25 PM

In for more details, please do share. :D

azn370z 10-26-2009 07:25 PM

I don't recall any 350z owner spending money on a cf oem body kit. Carbon fiber of impul would be more interesting.

Goolsbymd 10-26-2009 07:26 PM

Any closer pictures of the pattern around the bends and contours of the pieces?

370z_hot 10-26-2009 07:30 PM

This is special thank to NYBladeZ

Without NYBladeZ generous contribution, we will not have this project. Thank you very much.

NYBladeZ 10-26-2009 07:30 PM

wanted to keep it hush hush until the project was complete. Please direct all questions in PM's to 370z_hot he's the brains behind the pieces. I wasn't even sure he was going to post the pics yet I personally just saw how they came out a few days ago. These are just a teaser as soon as we get everything put together pics will follow so stay tuned.

Shops don't usually go out and buy body kits. Usually a customer would buy a kit such as impul, top secert, zele.....etc and they would give it to the shop for a poly version in return.

NYBladeZ 10-26-2009 08:45 PM

the pieces will all be oem, also working on hood fenders and engine cover, :fingers crossed: turbo next

dcrew1x 10-26-2009 09:36 PM

interesting.

suscribed.

RCZ 10-26-2009 09:53 PM

Personally I love the stock look, I know not all of us are fans of the fangs. Secondly I really didn't first want to invest in an aftermarket body kit just so I could get a mold off it, didn't seem worth the effort. Finally, when we started this project only the zele kit was out and that was $$$. I know the pictures are a teaser but thus far I'm happy with the results, can't wait till we get them on.

nogoodname 10-26-2009 10:01 PM

RCZ,

mainy because of post #12 and creating a one off design takes some time.

indeed, it was a difficult decision knowing there would be a substantial wait especially since I bought the Z very shortly before I undertook the project. Driving a Camry just doesn't give you the same grins.

RCZ 10-26-2009 10:11 PM

That's cool, nothing wrong with that. I was just asking. Looks pretty good.

NYBladeZ 10-26-2009 10:16 PM

after reading that sorry if it sounded harsh, us damn law students always come out with blunt to the point statements. I'm very excited I don't think we'll have fitament issues since it was molded directly off the stock pieces. I've searched for solid red Z's with cf but didn't come up with many pics. Guess I'll have to continue to be patient to see how it looks.

nogoodname 10-26-2009 10:25 PM

cant wait to see it installed, will you get all the cf parts painted ??

on a black Z, it could get away unpainted

NYBladeZ 10-26-2009 10:33 PM

I don't think I'll get them painted, I like the raw cf look even on a solid red though black would be the ideal color. I went with red out of love for my alma mater and current law school. I'm sure it's going to get a mix of love it/hate it reactions. If I saw a semi red Z drive by I'd probably first go oh man wth happened, but on a second glance you'll realize how much cf there really is.

nogoodname 10-26-2009 10:43 PM

if and probably most likely when you install a cf hood, fenders, A-pillars, B-pillars, roof and hatch. the only red colour would be the quarter panel....... lol

NYBladeZ 10-26-2009 10:46 PM

starting with front and rear bumpers, hood, side skirts, front fenders and engine cover for a little dress up under the hood. Saving up for a turbo...I have a plan but of course execution is everything.

nogoodname 10-26-2009 10:52 PM

you'll get decent weight saving with the fenders.

i also forgot the doors would be red too.....lol

racerxj17 10-26-2009 11:15 PM

i doubt if the bumper is lighter. the poly front weights like 3 lbs?

FWIW, the weights are:

Front: 9.75 Lbs.
Rear: 10.5 Lbs.

I just happen to have a pair stashed behind the garage...

Snakebite202 10-27-2009 01:17 PM

Are you planning a lip for the front bumper? My opinion has been (since the Z came out) that if you're going to go through the trouble of modding the body, a lip for the front should be one of the first things that happens.

KaienZ34 11-06-2009 11:02 PM

I like the stock look as well love the fangs could you make a front bumper with a smooth nose (no nissan hamburger indentation) I would love that any thoughts??

cvega 11-07-2009 02:30 AM

dayum..in on some installed pics for sure...

LiquidZ 11-07-2009 10:41 AM

I like this. By the way, how is that mesh grill attached? Is it possible to remove it?

Lastly, one thing I'm concerned about is that the chin spoiler seems to be integrated to the front bumper and made out of carbon fiber. I think it would be better if it were still made out of plastic so it can flex if it ever scraped.

John@Z1 11-07-2009 10:59 AM

In for the installed pics.

the mesh grill can be removed, my intention is to hopefully turbo the car shortly after the body work is done (fingers crossed) figured the mesh would hide the obvious intercooler. The chin spoiler looks like it is one piece but that's because of the angle the photo was taken, it is actually held in place by rivets.

Install pictures coming soon, still waiting on fenders and hood

nogoodname 11-07-2009 03:57 PM

to hide the intercooler is to paint it black :)

370Zsteve 11-07-2009 04:34 PM

So wahetevr happened to the installed pics meh

kannibul 11-17-2009 11:54 PM

I like the idea...probably be less chip-prone than the OEM parts...lol

Part of me says hell yeah, part of me says it'd be cheaper to repaint the car. Still, it's always nice to have options. I just wonder what the car would look like with these items on it...CF patterns on the ends and skirt (and maybe hood), yet still (in my case) body color for the hatch, doors, roof and A pillar. Something tells me that it wouldn't look good...

TipsZ 11-18-2009 11:31 AM

Knowing the weight of each piece would be nice, or at least give the analysis on the weight savings. Also, really want to see install pics! HA

Solus 11-18-2009 12:18 PM

I would love to get an oem cf replica w/o the hamburger indentations

NYBladeZ 11-18-2009 01:00 PM

waiting for hood and fenders to arrive...
