My hood is stuck on one side...

So, go ahead, get a laugh real quick.

Anyway, so I accidentaly hit a bird about 1-2 months ago and I never popped open the hood (the day I did hit it, I tried popping it open, but it was stuck). Anyway, now I need my hood popped open, so when I tried doing it yesterday, I figured it'd be an easy pop, but it isn't. It's like stuck on one side. I honestly think there's a bird living under my hood... I was able to open one side, but the side I hit the bird in won't open. I peaked through the side of the hood that was open, and I did see a feather.

Now, is this common with 370z's? Not hitting birds on the road, but the hood getting completely jammed? I need it opened asap.

Btw, this is a serious thread. Unbelievable right? :|

Unless you hit an ostrich, the bird had nothing to do with it. Just do your best to see if you can pry it open without damaging your paint. I have no idea what could be holding it down and neither will anybody else without looking at it.

I've tried that countless times, even had my dad give it a try. Doesn't open.

Oh, and after doing some research, it definitely doesn't seem liek the bird caused this. I still havent found a solution though

Try to push it down hard and jiggle it to see if it opens.

It doesn't. I even had my brother sit on the side that opens while I pop it open, no luck.

Does the hood open past the latch at all? Can you provide pics?

If you can get the front in the air and pull off the undertray, can you see the underside of the hood latch?

No, I can't get the latch to open up. U think if I go to autozone they could fix it?

The only thing Autozone is going to do for you is make it worse. Get under the car with the undertray off. Shine a flashlight on the underside of the hood latch and see if something's got it jammed.

Maybe take a picture so the members here can get a better idea?

My hood was jammed on one side when i took my front end apart for the turbo install. The screws holding the hood latch is rubbing the locking mechanism and wond pop open. You need to use a wrench and looses the two bolts that secure the locking mechanism down. When it gets loose enough, it will pop open. I had to put a small washer on one of the screws to keep it from rubbing the locking mechanism when it is tighten down all the way.

That is a hellno captain. I would have someone pull the hood release while I run a coat hanger around the latch to see if I could find where its getting caught.

The cable going to that side may have broken or the end of the cable sheath may have fallen out of the spot it fits in. You may be able to manipulate the latch from under the car (will probably have to get tray out of the way) but it's going to be a long reach. FSM will have details.
