Intere thread: STILLEN front lip spoiler
 

Hey Guys,

Here is our current prototype front lip spoiler and we are interested in getting some feedback from you. We also have four different possible color schemes that we think would be really good looking and we would like to know what you guys think! If you are not looking for a lip spoiler at all for your Z please do not bother voting. We are primarily interested in getting responses from people who are in the market for a lip spoiler.

I'm really in the market for a front lip and I still havent found one that I like yet. I think your design is good, but may look better without the vents in the middle. Here's a quick rendering...

Blacked out fangs and a black lip-spoiler look the best. One idea I had was to have a lip spoiler and fang-cover be all once piece, perhaps out of carbon fiber.

I'm with you on taking out the vents, looks a lot better IMO.

I also think a CF option might be worthwhile to look into.

I like Option 1 but feel like maybe you could raise it just a little bit... bring it maybe half an inch or an inch closer to the bottom of the bumper... I also think it may look better without the vents like RedZed showed us.

Stillen, not to de-rail the thread or demean your potential product in any way, but RedZed34's rendering looks a lot better with that simple tweak. I really like the way that looks. :tup:

Yeah, +1... I'm not trying to take anything away from Stillen, just giving my opinion through a rendering. ;)

Im gonna hold off my vote till the vent-less version is added :)

Although they may have done it that way to reduce drag while still "splitting"....aka on purpose.

I vote option 1, but my car is black. When do you anticipate release?

You are not derailing this at all. We posted here to get your opinions and we really like the feedback you give us. There is no point in us making the molds and finalizing something if you guy's do not want it so thank you very much for all of your valuable input!

These will be made out of our extremely durable Poly-urethane.

I like RedZed's render.

However, I'm in the market for a full front bumper replacement for added cooling. Hopefully, that's in the pipeline as well.

Would a carbon fiber version be a possibility as well?

Carbon? I would go through them like 370ZNISMO goes through tampons....high speedbumps where I live.

Voted 1 but would easily take 2 if that was the final. The problem for me is that the spoiler will be more of a 'feeler'...I scrape the crap out of the sport airdam as it is already. And that's with being careful.

Great design. I've just ordered a C.F. front fang cover, and with RedZeds idea of tweaking out the vents, I think it would flow really well if it was also in C.F..

I am not feeling it at all. I will stay on the fence for more to appear on the market.

The real question is what materials and what price range? I personally like the ventless version, it is reminicsent of the older Stillen Type III lower lip for the 300zx.

If it were urethane in the sub-$250 price range, I think it would be very appealing.

^^agreed. i have way too many speed bumps where i live, so carbon fiber lip would make me cry. something simple and clean and near the 200 mark would do it.

How about photochopping so the top of the lip goes up and meets the crease?

If the vents are functional, I want them. If not, it looks better without. Not sure what their function would be though.

Seems like that's how most lips are made for the 370... I was personally looking for a lip that didn't follow those lines. Just makes for a huge "thick" lip. I was looking for something more low key and "thinner"... and even the renders that I made may protrude out a bit too much as well.

I was thinking more like the mines. I think if it doesn't meet the crease it gives it an unfinished and it isn't completely on look like the top secret,

I just want one that will provide downforce on the racetrack. Overall looks are really not important, but pretty is always better than ugly.

i really dont feel the holes guys im sorry...... i like the post above with all the pics... those lips look clean

what does the black fangs have to do with the lip? just curious because if it comes to just the lip i like it without the holes with a matte black finish

This would be a poly-urethane part. We would not be making one out of carbon fiber.
