Default Interior Panel Bubbling Up??!

4104E60F-E242-4F2F-A877-2206ED62503F.jpg

What’s up guys I have a question. I woke up this morning got in my car and noticed this bubbly formation whatever you wanna call it appeared on the Cluster Lid Cubby. I didn’t clean it with any interior cleaner for MONTHS maybe since June? I usually dust it off with a microfiber cloth. Anyway I live in Jersey and the temp outside now is anywhere between 3-50 degrees. Idk if drastic temperature change caused this. Not sure, was wondering if anyone experienced this issue or what you guys/gals think caused this problem. Thanks!!

Have not seen that one, but there have been other dash issues in the past.

Your’s is a different issue than the “melting dash”, much cheaper to fix at least, just get a new cubby lid on eBay. Maybe something wrong with the glue used to upholster the leather.

Get one of those rubber wallpaper rollers to see if those bumps can be rolled out...just a thought.

Looking at the full size picture there appears to be one "Bubble" above the cubby lid.

Looks like something may have sprayed on the lid. Water, soda, something else? It may disappear after it fully dries. You may need to clean off sugar, flavoring, etc.

Nothing has been sprayed on it, Ive used Meguiars leather cleaner maybe around Juneish? After that I'd wipe the dust off with a microfiber. I mean I do smoke my Juul in the car I don't know if the nicotine had something to do with it but Ive vaped in the car for over a year. Idk :/

I'll check it out, see if it comes off, if not do you know if they make a Carbon Fiber Cubby Lid? Ive seen the lay over ones but I'm not sure if they make an actual cubby lid out of carbon.

Are there certain years that the cracked/sticky dash occurred?

At first, I was going to say heat exposure … but, at closer look, I'm going to go with some sort of liquid being sprayed unknowingly there & left.

I have a good idea of what caused this issue. I sprayed "BluntEffects" Air Freshner recently and ever since then, that's when this issue happened.. yup.. got it haha. Thanks everyone!
