no we are talking about! looks great man! I really like how looks the new Nismo with the Carbon Signal lip kit!
|
Where can I buy the DRLs? I really like these and for how much?$
|
I recommend you read the first post.
|
MY 3 piece CF front lip only came with two screws and three bolts. How is everyone installing these?
and as far as the DTRL. I know I have to drill a hole and screw in one end of the DRL into the bumper but how is everyone mounting the other end. all it has is a threaded bolt sticking out?. Was I not shipped something important I needed to complete this install? thanks |
They recommend using body silicone. I used two 5/16 bolts on both sections of the sides for the front lip, the center is a royal pain in the ***, have to mark where you want it, then you use the crush bolts in the center piece, and drill through the sides to mount them together.

Can you install the side front lip and the center without actually take off the front bumper? |
I did, just remove the under shroud. Center is a royal pain in the *** IMO, maybe I didn't get the trick, but I think it could have been better thought out. No markings to drill so it's a trial and error process.

Is anyone else still waiting on their package?

I was born with mine.

How did manage to hold it in place while screwing those in? You only used two bolts on the whole lip? Did you install the lip with the bumper off or on? Thanks |

Two per side, same with the side blades. Drilled holes in the lip first, then held against the bumper and marked the bumper to drill. Mine fits flush this way.

What tools did you use for the crush bolts? Is it Astro 1442? It could not be found for pick up at Sears or Home Depot. How many crush bolt did you use to secure the center lip with the small triangle piece? |

I used 5 nuts and bolts on each side lip. To make sure the lip sits flush, start drilling from the outer side to the inner side and bolt it in the same order. No silicon needed. |
I used a riv-nut tool, looks like a rivet gun you thread the crush bolts to. I used two per side, 4 total. And I left out the small triangle block.

5/16 must huge though? so you just drilled through the carbon fiber underside?
I was thinking of using double sided tape. then use a rivot gun and put 3 rivots from the inside of the bumper so there would not be any holes on the outside of CF lip. and using 15 lb double side to just basically hold it in place while i drilled holes to to put the rivots through I was just thinking of using screws instead so it would be easier to remove later if I decide to take it out but worried the screws would come out. what do you just think? |
I'm sure you could do it that way, but this applies a good amount of pressure on the lip, it does not move whatsoever. I'm not sure what the wind load is on it either, but after having a stillen splitter take off from my G37 bumper, I don't risk it.
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1...e/IMAG0265.jpg This was using the supplied screws from stillen. Held on for a few months and one windy day on the interstate it took off. http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../splitter3.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../splitter2.jpg http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b1.../splitter1.jpg As you can see the scews are still in place but they are small enough that it let the splitter pull over them. That's why I used the larger hardware to give it a good gripping area to keep that from happening. |

So are you not using the crush bolts that came with the kit? I agree with you on using extra precaution. Better save than sorry. Every time I heard someone using double sided tape and a few screws for lip or spoiler a few weeks later they regret it. |

Just a heads up for those who bought DRL brackets, you need to fabricate a piece of metal to screw one side of the bracket to the bumper. This was unexpected.
The fitment does not completely sit flush so get some silicone to seal the (small) gap. PS. I have intake air filters behind the DRL so I want to make sure there is no water coming inside the bumper when it's raining. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/12...2deb21ac4e.jpg |

Hi Guys.
for glad to see the pics. keep them coming for the installations and bolts topic: - We have designed the whole kit on OEM bumpers and we made sure that it sits flush. - Adding anything between the lips and the bumpers will create a gap, thus we recommend to have the kit installed with Silicon to avoid any gaps. - After installing the kit with silicon and it dries, you can apply screws if you want that extra holding force. - 2 parts that we kept flexible for our customers to choose from is: - Front Middle Lip. - Rear Diffuser. - front lip can be installed in different configurations based on how aggressive you want the lip to look. either more to the front for aggressive look and more inside for a classy look. - same for the rear diffuser, we supplied some diffuser spacers that either can be used as is. or install it straight to the bumper without spacers. or you can even reduce the size of spacers... to give each car different look and different touch. (not many companies that i know of would give the customers that much flexibility if you ask me :) ) as for the LED's, it should sit flush and we have tested those many times, but keep in mind that its very small area and sometimes while preparing for paint or once painted you might get some part abit sanded more which might create a very minimal gap. thus i would suggest that the LED's gets tested after the prep work to make sure no gaps. as for the bolt, those who received their LED brackets will notice that they fit from outside and somehow clips on to the bumper, so bolting the braket from onside which we did will get the bracket to be held properly without moving, but we also added a bolt on the other side if you would like to add a small aluminium or metal bracket for extra strength. we couldn't supply the bracket for a simple reason that we were out of stock of bumpers and we didn't want to send a bracket that might not fit. and it is a small bracket that anybody can make easily. if anybody is facing any issue, please talk to me directly on Whatsapp +971552223502 and i will be more than glad to assist.
