Okay, can someone who has installed these covers answer this question from the instructions

The Bottom Seat
Item 5: Fix the belt of the front side with the plastic part

Does this mean use the little black plastic tool to "neaten up" around the area of the seatbelt?

it a finesse tool. you use it to gently poke the material around and behind the side panel of the cushion. so you can make it look a lil gooder. i used to work for lear seating, building seat for BMW X5 and Z4s. the come in real handy.

I am at 8 weeks and it still says "Production".

My order took about 11 weeks. Overall it did not fell that long, and I was very happy when I actually got it.

Thank you both! I really only found the need for the tool on the driver's seat near the area where the latch is to recline the seat. That was extremely tight!

Forgot to add photos a few weeks back but here they are. Drivers seat has had more seat time during its ~50k miles, as you can see the cover sags a bit more.

Did you have any trouble tucking the cover over the drivers side recline lever? Yours looks really tight but mine is a little loose right there... Just installed today! Super happy with them.. got black/red like the OP.

I like the idea of these a lot but I have a couple of questions if someone could answer them for me.

With these installed, the bolstering doesn't seem as pronounced as it does without the covers. Do the seats still feel as snug with these covers on?

Feels just as snug to me. I think the inserts just "float" a little without any pressure on them. When you sit down you can still feel the bolsters holding you in the seat.

hmmmm.... I'm gonna have to look into these. Might use some velcro or dual lock to stop the float

I think if you are looking for that level of detail, you might be happier reupholstering with a kit from leatherseats.com or the like. These covers look and fit remarkably well for covers, but they're still covers. For example, you can't tuck them over the drivers side reclining level (at least, on my car I couldn't) so it is loose there and that kind of thing may drive you nuts.

I did the install myself in a about 3 hours total and much of that was just me trying to figure out how to get it to fit the best. I could do them in under an hour now. I think an upholstery shop would be over kill, but they could probably do it in an hour or less... but really its easy enough you should consider just putting them on yourself. They're still just seat covers =)

One thing I am really digging about them is the seats now have a large pocket on the back. The Z needs as much storage space as it can get.
