I love carbon signal but they never reply pms or instagram

Carbon_z 07-22-2015 03:04 PM

I know they are working on the final setup and getting it ready as soon as possible. Also the different timezone makes the delay a bit longer. Cant wait to see it completed.

KaienZ34 07-22-2015 03:40 PM

Yeah it's almost 1am in Dubai now.

G37Sam 07-22-2015 04:37 PM

Also bear in mind it's like Easter in Dubai here (Public Holidays)

CarbonSignal 07-23-2015 12:34 AM

It was put on hold for few weeks but we did post an update on first protytype on our FB page :)

Not a final one as there will be some revisions to the design in the coming days, one in the pic is with the joystick and airlift controller (not properly installed), Normal production one will have just the joystick.

We will offer an option of integrating any other air setup module or boost controller in the console as well. Hopefully design will be finalized by next week.

^This! Would be great if there was an interface, cable, or some way to make the factory nav screen display obd2 readouts. Any info?

We will look into at later stage as module can display anything with HDMI input which is not there we will see what can be done via RCA or AV port but for now it will be offered as above pic.

Im sorry but we do reply to pms on forum & FB along with emails and whatapps messages at earliest, we are looking at 15-25 messages (more on weekends) on each platform on daily basis so sometime we can miss here and there at times because of time difference and weekends on different days. I tried to dig in pms but couldn't find your message back till beginning of the year

Instagram it says clearly for ways to contact either email or whatsapp, phone call, cant send DMs to everyone and most of the time we cant see all comments for replying because only limited numbers are visible

I tried to dig in the pms here couldn't find from you from jan till now, please send it again and someone will tke care of it.

Looks way better than my sketches. Can the CS logo be centered somewhere?

Also, I believe the top part of the radio bezel is shaped differently for Bose and non-Bose (Base) trims.

looks great

It will be done first for Bose then altered for base model.

In a normal just joystick one logo and joystick are in middle.

Final design will have some more changes

Here's some ideas for a lower profile rotary encoder knob. See if this helps with the overall design especially center mounted. You may have to use a spacer to offset the rotary encoder or source a different one:

http://www.robot-italy.com/media/cat.../0/2055-02.jpg

Unfortunately, it'll be difficult to make space for a boost control module unless you put the rotary encoder on the extreme sides. Heck, maybe it can be an option with detachable face plates.

Wait for final design:tup:

We are using same rotatory knob its very nice quality and also feel (aluminium), as manage to install airlift and knob along with a decal plate so there is enough space. We did airlift as we are agents for it no so can offer else there will be knob just in middle and also without any holes so customer can install it where ever they like (syncro rev space in autos or between seat heaters) and use this space for boost turbo timer etc.

Ha... yea I have 3 blank switch spots. I can easily mount a couple of switches and joy stick in that area. It's fine as long as I don't spill my coffee on it from taking hard turns, which is near impossible in between shifts. :driving:

Heck, I might cut into my factory radio bezel and fit something there since it's easier to reach.

OH...... SNAP :excited:

Ryguy 08-07-2015 03:06 PM

Would you be able to make an area to mount Tein's EDFC active below the screen?

Very cool! Have you guys ever played with the factory screen on the G37 for a gauge system?

Zada Tech has their own. AFAIK, they're working on PID output for our cars. Hopefully we can get some useful stuff. Most important for me is oil temperature so I can use it to switch on my oil cooler fan. Compared to my external sensor and gauge, it is off by 15F!

When you have these ready for sale I will buy one! Keep up the great work.

DIGItonium 08-10-2015 08:51 AM

@CarbonSignal, have you guys started sourcing various switches that match the decor, or can you fab something up?

With the SPAL fan, I splice the relay fan output to connect an LED to indicate the fan is getting power. The relay switch input I believe is active low, which normally connects to a temperature sender. I plan to connect it to a switch for manual operation, but will also have the Zada Tech module control it as well. It's an idea I shared with Matin. It would be nice to have a separate backlight for the switches so I a can see it at night.

[EDIT] I may have missed it or it was briefly mentioned. Any plans for rear-view camera input and sense?

All installed some low qaulity pics but just to give an idea and no there is no person inside the screen :)

No plans for any switches or anything, console as in pic will be with joystick, did for airlift also but anything else will be a custom order discussed at ordering time, drilling for switches is easy. For fans which you saying is easy via installing any toggle switch.

Backlight we did mention have a wire hooked to headlights so when lights are on screen will be dimmed a bit as in any new car.

Rear camera yes there is an input.

Yeah possible but cant commit if it will hold any other 7" tablet as we made to hold the screen we have it but can be tried for sure.

370Z JT 08-12-2015 12:50 AM

looking forward to see the base radio setup. CF is nice, but i have the reflection of the display. Might go with fiberglass.

Want.

DIGItonium 08-12-2015 10:32 AM

@CarbonSignal, do you have access to a 3D printer? I wonder you print a nice flat rectangular frame for the display that you can mold around with. Maybe it can help close the gaps and make it look nicer when you mount the display panel.

I searched around for a trim or bezel... no luck. Another option is to get some ABS plastic and have a machine cut it.
