Some colors are just plain hard to match up. I know it sounds odd with white, but, the under-material makes all the difference too.

That said, I have a black Z, and I'm very concerned about swirls and scratches. The more I touch the car, the more they happen. Eventually I'll get a dual action polisher, and hit it with that and get them all out again. Probably not for another year...and allow them to "build up" a bit.

That said, I also keep noticing what appear to be cuts on the front fascia that are from road crap hitting it - can't polish that out, but I can replace the fascia with a repainted new one....which for me will be in about 3-5 years, possibly when I get the whole car touched up and made happy-shiny again.

pearls is also really hard to match because u have to shoot it evenly... u shoot too much it dries a different color...

I have the same issue, but with my side skirts, not really my bumpers. My bumpers are a TAD off, but not enough to ever notice unless you know it was there. My sideskirts on the other hand, are terribly matched, and I am thinking about having them re-sprayed at the body shop while my car is in for fixing 1/4 of my car from the idiot girl that hit me in a parking lot...

Exact same thing here. My bumpers are fine, but my side skirts are noticably off.

in for pics of your car during the day with clear shots...the time of time and sh*ttiness of the current photos makes me feel its making a difference. It cant be all that bad since you baught the car.

Yea
in the bright of day it looks much much better, and yes its not terrible, all though it does look terrible in these pictures, but its certainly a little off.. my side skirts are perfect though, go figure..

the more i look the more im going to push to get front and rear sprayed.. i dont see why not, any night time picture shows great differences in the bumper...

wow... so what should i do guys? i want the white but if its one of those roll the dice things? because it doesnt seem like everyone is having this problem. just maybe half the people who buy white.. but how do i know if that will be me or not? i will need to have the car ordered regardless. so how will i know if my cars bumpers and bottom panels will be a good enough match.. i wanted to really get white but looks like i might just settle for grey.

just look your car offer before you take it, and in my case they are painting the bumpers to match so i am more than happy with the white..

go for white

UPDATED THE OG POST. nissan has now agreed to re spray my front bumper as well, so my car will be matched much better than it was from the factory, i will post the after of the front as well, but as you can see from the rear, a good autobody shop CAN match the bumpers...

nissan will fix this issue I am sure with better quality control after they pay out a bunch of times for people like myself who dont accept to live with the colors not matching..

Recently got my PW Z and I think my bumpers and side skirts are off as well. It's really noticable in low light situations. In bright daylight, I can't really tell. Is it just the way the light reflects off the different materials or does it actually need to be repainted? I can't tell if I'm being too picky.

OP can you still tell a difference in low light after it was repainted?

I have the PW 370Z and its skirt color is off enough to notice with the remainder of the car. Things like this on a car used to upset me but now it seems absolutely irrelevant to life.....

Take your easy going outlook on life and :gtfo2:  This thread is for OCD people only.

Just kidding ;) But it does bother me when I spend this kind of money on a brand new car and the body panels don't even match. I just want to know if it's due to the lighting or a bad paint job.

The difference in color was very drastic in low lit conditions, like parking lots at night or around sunset... Looked horrible IMO... The new paint isnt 100% exact in low lit conditions either but it is about 99% accurate and that because I am OCD.... if i complained now that would be OCD, in the begining its common sense that the car shouldnt be off by that much...

if you have this problem just take it into your dealer and have them take pictures and send them to Nissan. They will do the right thing, they did in my situation...

here is a pic of before and after in a low lit condition

AFTER REPAINT, IN A CONDITION THAT WOULD LOOK WORSE BEFORE THE RESPRAY AS THE COLOR USED TO BE TERRIBLE IN PARKING LOTS AT NIGHT WITH REGULAR LIGHTING

BEFORE RE-SPRAY AROUND 1-2 BEFORE SUNSET, MUCH BETTER CONDITION THAN THE AFTER PICTURE AS FAR AS SHOWING THE DISCOLORATION

I understand where you are coming from...I just grew tired of finding fault in everything. There wasn't a day that would go by that there wasn't something that wasn't right. It just takes all teh enrgy out of a person.

I think it comes with age..you just get to a point and just start noticing all the good things you have...makes the defects just seem to go away because they aren't the focus anymore....and you aren't getting drained in energy or money anymore.
