I assume you are referring to the rivets. They can be removed if the outer and inner sections are both brushed and the tip is fully welded. They must be there to facilitate the two-tone customizability of the set.

Anyone have installed pics yet? |
Brilliant at stingging everyone along! :bowrofl:
Read through the whole string... what a sucker I am. lol |
Sorry about that. I became concerned with the actual demand since they are limited to the HKS exhaust style, so I changed gears and made this universal slip-on exhaust silencer for sport bikes instead.

Bringing this back from the dead. ^^ Did anyone ever get this and install them on a Z? I think they look absolutely epic.
|
It's not dead...just dormant. :) No sir. Despite the soft inquiries and interest, no one was willing to commit, and I am not able to just get them made without them being pre-paid. Custom orders and all that. :) The designs are waiting to be built. If a couple of you are willing to move on it, we will renew our vendor status here and get them made asap. Of course it is understood that it is a more difficult sale without actual installed pics, but we hope some enthusiasts out there share our vision and are willing to make a move. No risk, no reward.
For what it's worth, the applications that are built thus far look FANTASTIC, in my opinion. You've seen them on the GTRs...and now they are on bikes. Thanks! http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...VO/Fringe2.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...O/P3220111.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...O/P4130127.jpg Here is a short "underground" vid from the lab. :) Fringe XVO Underground 01 Sport Bike Performance Exhaust - YouTube |
Completely understood, Fringe.
I personally am looking for an exhaust soon, and I seriously like these tips. Depending on the exhaust I want to get, delivery time will vary from a week, to 2+ months (FI TDX). I'll let you know about looking into a set of those tips, though. It's a seriously unique style of tip that isn't brash or over the top. |
Alstann, I just looked at the FI TDX exhaust on the FI website, and the tips that are designed will not bolt on to that unit as they have permanent welded tips.
The tips rendered above were designed to fit the HKS exhaust system. |
I won't lie, they look sick on those bikes.

Chris, they look awesome right?! I think it would really set any car apart. And I doubt anyone could ever say that it's "ricey" or not clean - the construction looks immaculate. |
Honestly, I would love to see a set of these in an integrated rear diffuser. Now this would have to be a custom built rear axle back of an exhaust, but I think it would be cool. Especially for a purely show car.
Fringe, have you talked to any of the exhaust vendors at possibly doing a short run of their systems with your tips, or at least talked about a co-op effort with a limited run group buy? Just to gauge interest? |
We haven't. The idea has been entertained though. For several of these exhaust systems they could do it from the "factory", (and that's how we would want our tips put on a welded system...just for accuracy) but we aren't familiar with any of them to the point where we know where there products are actually being made, and based on past experience, we don't trust salesman from "brand x" to be straight with us. We will only deal with people who make their products here. We don't tolerate shops that send products from other manufacturers to other countries for duplication. It's BS and un-American. "Greddy-style" for example. We all know what that means.
We may be at risk of pissing people in the industry off here, but we also believe that the consumer will appreciate the level of honesty that we put into everything we do...and we are sure that we are not the only ones who feel this way. This isn't about money, it's about passion. If any of you can vouge for specific brands that are honest and real we would seriously consider at least approaching them with the idea. What we will NOT do is allow our product to be de-valued by putting it on a knock-off product. HKS we trust. What about FI TDX? Others? |

I believe ARK exhausts are also made in the US if I'm not mistaken? They might be open to the idea as well. And theirs is similar in design to the HKS exhaust. |

And fyi, I do appreciate the level of honesty in your guys' work. You guys make truly innovative products. |
I'm really curious to see em on a G37. Anyone with amazing photoshop skills willing to do this? I would jump on these if I knew they looked amazing on a G
