FringeXVO 08-05-2012 10:20 AM

I do not mind at all Alstann, in fact it is most likely necessary. I expect that these tips wil fit on the 350z HKS exhausts, but we need a 350z owner to verify that.

I couldn't in all seriousness ever ask someone to pay $700 for two tips, lol...unless they had gold plated outers, LOL.

I have also posted in general, but you can do whatever you feel you need to do find 10 friends. At least get as close as we can, as I may be able to chip in on this if we don't quite get 10 more. Time will tell. :)

SgtGoldy 08-05-2012 10:36 PM

Id crosspost this to MyG37.com

I'm sure a few guys will grab interest in em. I have stock exhaust or I'd be on for a group buy as well

ZKraken22 12-11-2012 09:41 AM

What about titanium looking tips? Could we get that finish?

FringeXVO 12-11-2012 11:53 AM

You could, but you don't want to know how much a one-off set of Ti tips will cost. :)

Actually, I'll tell you anyway. You would have to do a group buy because, for example, I had this quoted for a set of 4 tips for the GTRs (in FULL TITANIUM), and that comes out to 5k. Seriously ridiculous. A set like that would be unique in the world though. (Like my Jeepra. :) ) You could just get a Ti outer though. That was around 1.2k iirc (again, for the GTR), and still pretty ridic.

FringeXVO 04-10-2013 05:28 PM

Update:

Components for 12 sets have been ordered. I am told I will see them in approximately 5 to 6 weeks. When you see my name in blue an announcement will be made and they will be available then. Limited qty of 11 sets, 2 are spoken for. Price remains as mentioned above for 12 sets. No pre-sales.

Good news!

SgtGoldy 04-10-2013 06:00 PM

I never really had an intrest in upgrading my exhaust since i love the stock sound (with my cats of course). But at 250 your making me change my mind lol

FringeXVO 04-10-2013 06:12 PM

Ha. I think Natalie would look tits with a set in "Phantom Black"...like these GTR tips.

Or maybe a HIGH-GLOSS black with a red inside to match the calipers? Ooohhhh the possibilities. :)

SgtGoldy 04-10-2013 07:54 PM

Im now looking into buying an exhaust... damn you Fringe...

wheee! 04-10-2013 08:13 PM

These are only for the HKS system! Replaceable tips for the custom look!

Those look so freakin sick it's not even funny... :bowrofl:

I love my FI's, but they can't fit these. :(

Seriously, my thoughts were if I ever go for a full exhaust Im going FI (I already have their RHFC so why not lol). But this... this right here is making me change my mind.

In for FI fitment :ugh2:

wheee! 04-11-2013 07:28 AM

Don't get me wrong, I think the FI pipes are awesome... but I absolutely love the sound from my HKS system. Having the ability to swap tips is such a cool plus factor. These tips will really make the rear end 'pop'...

FringeXVO 04-12-2013 09:17 AM

It's been pointed out that replacement tips are hard to find as well, but soon there will be another option. I will use the most corrosion resistant hardware I can find on each set.

killergx001 04-26-2013 12:38 AM

Are there any sets available left? i would love to purchase a set!

SgtGoldy 05-10-2013 06:42 AM

so question:

I really don't want to change my exhaust but I want to run these tips. Can I just buy the HKS muffler and add it to my stock?

wheee! 05-10-2013 07:19 AM

No. They won't bolt up properly to a stock system. Plus I doubt you could buy just the rear sections.

SgtGoldy 05-10-2013 07:55 AM

yep, didn't think so. Dang, I like the subtle sound of my exhaust with just my RHFC...

FringeXVO 05-29-2013 12:32 PM

Just to update everyone, I have received all my components except for one...which I'm told are shipping today. Next update will be completed sets, hopefully by the end of the week or next Monday.

wheee! 05-29-2013 01:07 PM

:excited:

FringeXVO 06-04-2013 12:14 AM

Final components are in and raw! Here are two of the components formed and mocked up. If all goes well the first two sets will be made and at the coater by tomorrow afternoon. More updates very soon.

One set will be silver and black...and I'm figuring out what I want to put on the red 350z test fit car.

This is always exciting.

can't wait :excited:

FringeXVO 06-04-2013 01:59 PM

Test set is 99% complete and Wheee's set is at the coater.

FringeXVO 06-04-2013 06:45 PM

Test fit complete. I am HAPPY. Pics by tomorrow. Hehehe.

FringeXVO 06-06-2013 08:21 AM

According to what I'm told, the specific body kit on this red G35 shrouds the tips more than stock and other body kits. We spent time speccing these so the actual extension of the tips should appear to be out slightly more on other vehicles. We'll have more pics in the coming weeks to compare.

Finally. Installed pics and it only took 228 posts in the thread, lol.

G37sHKS 06-06-2013 08:49 AM

Do you have any universal exhaust tip that require cutting and welding?

I will start a new thread with the DIY install along with picture of it mounted to my 370Z with stock bumper as well as with the Amuse bumper (when it arrives). I anticipate that these tips will protrude just right to show off the detail in the ends. These are going to be sharp! I anticipate that people with the Invidia removeable tips will also want a set modified to fit their exhausts too!

FringeXVO 06-06-2013 10:23 AM

@G37sHKS

Something like that could be made. I have designed all my tips for specific applications, but there have been several instances where I made modifications to a customers specs to fit a different setup. For example, the GTR tips slip on to the oem size tubing, but I have made a couple sets to slip onto 3" for some Dubai customers, actually. You can contact me and we'll discuss possibilities. Anything is possible, it's just a matter of time and money. :)

G37sHKS 06-06-2013 11:20 AM

Well the thing is I sold my HKS exhaust and now I have GTM 3" catback on the way. I was thinking if i could get universal 3" pipe tip and weld it here in local shop.

FringeXVO 06-11-2013 03:08 PM

I am applying an update to the mounting solution...the one spot that wasn't exactly perfect. A slight discrepency between the CAD hardware and the real-world hardware left me with bolts that were just slightly too big...which is EXACTLY why I insist on a test-fit prior to launch. It is required for this exact reason. So we know the development process works, no steps have been skipped, and I have upgraded the designs to incorporate a low-profile weld nut and M6 button head cap screw (all stainless) with lock washer to ensure these are a true "bolt-on" solution as well as highly corrosion resistant hardware, 100% stainless steel construction, laser cut, 100% born and built in Austin...custom colored to your specs. No one else gives you options like that...just sayin'.

Extremely well done work Fringe. Your gonna make me get an HKS System. And again, I said I wouldn't buy an exhaust system (I feel it attracts too much attention) so thats saying a lot.

FringeXVO 06-20-2013 07:56 AM

Wow. Thanks sarge! You made my day!

Very well done Chad. Check pm.

Question: If I go with Phantom Black, do I have to paint the HKS innder tube to (high temp) flat black? IIRC, HKS inner tube is silver color isn't it?

https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphot...74084475_n.jpg

Is this phantom black too? I'm pretty much looking for that flat black look that'll go nice with my Fujimura CF rear diffuser.
