Does the exhaust go all the way up to the cats? Hard to tell in the photos..

FuszNissan 05-12-2009 10:41 PM

I like, single tube back.

butters167 05-12-2009 11:58 PM

Ordered mine Monday, Can't wait for it to get here!!

INTENSEPOWER 05-13-2009 11:03 AM

Thank you for all of the support. Hoping to see everyones pics once they get their installs done. Thanks for sharing black

black09Z 05-13-2009 11:51 AM

no. it goes up to the b-pipe. so needless to say, if its gettin about the same gain as stillen, get a stillen b-pipe and thatll put you over the top.

on another note. from a cold start it has a gargle to it, but after you start driving it goes away.

Full Catback Y-Pipe Included.

It has only been tested for power on Bone stock JDM 370Z/Fairlady with OE ECU that has a limiter at 180Km. When it hit the limiter it was still making power and had achieved over 15whp.

Cant wait to see it on a US spec Vehicle with no limiter and post up numbers!

Be the first to get this exhaust on your Z!

Excuse my ignorance, but what is the B pipe? I thought this was a cat back exhaust per the quoted post.

Skorch 05-13-2009 03:02 PM

This is not a catback. It's a Y-pipe back exhaust.

Diversion 05-13-2009 03:53 PM

Crap, instant deal breaker, not catback = not interested. Also explains why it retains a nice sound.

Axlebacks (or however far this goes) are for looks and sound in my book.

Are you guys both talking about the same thing? In those pics, it looks to me like a bone stock Y-pipe, with the replacement starting behind the stock Y-pipe, at the crossmember. You can see all the factory heat-shielding, etc on the stock Y-pipe.

This is the image I'm talking about:

jmlenz 05-13-2009 09:18 PM

I agree with wstar, it appears the from photo above it retains the OEM y-pipe.

Diversion 05-14-2009 12:25 AM

Yeah, there seems to be a discrepancy.. You say catback, but we're all seeing everything replaced but it looks like the OEM y-pipe is there... Can we get pictures of the system upclose including the Y-pipe that connects to the cats?

Skorch 05-14-2009 02:57 AM

I called 5ZIGEN yesterday and they told me that it does NOT come with its own Y-pipe, therefore uses the stock one. It's not a catback exhaust - it's a Y-pipe back exhaust.

CBRich 05-14-2009 07:30 AM

Does this mean we have to add YPBE to the acronym thread now?

wstar 05-14-2009 07:52 AM

Well, I don't mean to rain on their parade, but the primary problem areas in the stock exhaust are the cats and the Y-pipe. The stock Y-pipe is ridiculously restrictive for this engine. Not that I'm an exhaust engineer or anything, but it sure seems obvious having looked at mine up close after it came out of the car.

INTENSEPOWER 05-14-2009 04:50 PM

Sorry bout that ya'll the rep over at gozigen Japan stated it came with Ypipe. I will retract my statement.

Diversion 05-14-2009 05:11 PM

5Zigen does make a Y-pipe for the 350.. I'd assume they will have one for the 370 as well soon enough.

FuszNissan 05-14-2009 06:30 PM

Will this hinder preformance???

INTENSEPOWER 05-14-2009 06:53 PM

OK, We contacted 5Zigen and they are working with us as it was their unfortunate mistake and stating that the Y-Pipe is included standard with the exhaust.

The customers that have already ordered their exhaust can rest assured that Y-Pipes will be sent out no additional cost to them with their orders.

We here at Intense Strive to provide THE BEST Customer Service in the industry and we back out customers 110%.

Website has been updated and yes the Y-Pipes are available for sale separately.

dainedazz 05-14-2009 08:56 PM

black09z, can you please post some videos up. thanks.

I hope 5Zigen makes it right with you guys after THEIR mistake. I look forward to receiving my proracer with y-pipe and intake. Keep up the great customer service. :tiphat:

LiquidZ 05-15-2009 01:57 PM

I'm not too familiar with 5Zigen. What is their history/reputation like?

butters167 05-15-2009 02:31 PM

5Zigen has a great reputation, been around for years. I had their exhaust on my WRX a couple years ago and loved it. Thats part of the reason I ordered one for my 370z. Great gains and in my opinion the best sounding import exhaust there is.

Do we have any dyno graphs for this exhaust?

butters167 05-15-2009 02:59 PM

I don't think anyone in the U.S. has dynoed yet. There are only two or three in the U.S. so far I was told. Mine wont be here for about 2 weeks. I will try to dyno mine when I get it installed and I pass the break-in period and change my oil.

black09Z 05-16-2009 08:11 PM

just so yall know, ill be getting my y-pipe from intense that they are sending me FREE OF CHARGE (now thats customer service) and ill keep yall updated when i do.

black09Z 05-16-2009 08:16 PM

also i have a question for intense power. the ratings that you posted about the exhaust, (15hp on the japanese ecu) was that with or without the y-pipe?

butters167 05-16-2009 08:43 PM

from the pics I've seen on a different thread it looks like 5zigen has a aftermarket y-pipe on it. It is pics of them dynoing their white 370z

black09Z 05-19-2009 03:01 PM

ok but i would like to know for sure

INTENSEPOWER 05-19-2009 11:43 PM

I will confirm the answer for you tomorrow. Great question actually. Ypipe available separately now too. Holla!

jrmlk 05-20-2009 06:23 PM

love the sound..

black09Z 05-26-2009 07:52 AM

so i got my y-pipe (free of charge. thanks intense!) and the sound is about the same tone and everything just louder. but not bad, theres still barely any drone while cruising, if you got music playing you wont notice it. but under load and especially WOT it sounds GREAT. nice power increase also

FuszNissan 05-26-2009 10:46 AM

Man I hope mine comes soon, Black when did you order yours??

butters167 05-26-2009 02:34 PM

I can't wait to get mine too. It was supposed to ship out the end of last week but I haven't heard anything yet to know for sure if it shipped.

BerkTech 05-26-2009 02:40 PM
