Q about CSC failure

I'm a newb to the 370z. Is the CSC the clutch master cylinder? What goes wrong with it? Does it just leak and then air gets into the system, or

Does it just leak and then air gets into the system, or a different type of failure? If the former, sometimes you can pump the clutch a bunch(15-20 times) to regain preassure to get a few more shifts.
