Had similar issue on My 98 Ranger. Freon was good. A/C mech said an interlock prevents A/C from coming on if engine too hot. Turns out my problem was thermostat

Had similar issue on My 98 Ranger. Freon was good. A/C mech said an interlock prevents A/C from coming on if engine too hot. Turns out my problem was thermostat was sticking and not opening all the way. Nice cheap fix. So could be thermostat or flaky temperature sensor thinking it is hotter than it is and forcing shutdown on A/C compressor.
Over 100 here in central Arkansas today and Z had no problem keeping it cool. |
