Clutch and lightweight flywheel suggestions.

The clutch on my 2009 sport is starting to wear out. If you speed shift it likes to slip and the engagement is very near the top of the throw.

Default Clutch and lightweight flywheel suggestions.

The clutch on my 2009 sport is starting to wear out. If you speed shift it likes to slip and the engagement is very near the top of the throw. I have been looking at clutches for a while and I don't think I'll ever be over 500 whp ever. What are your thoughts on a streetable clutch that will be able to hold forced induction down the line?

Before you buy a clutch that can handle forced induction,l you need to be really sure you're going to actually do it. Most of the clutches that will hold forced induction levels of power are less pleasant to drive than stock, and if you never end up going FI you've got all of the unpleasantness and none of the benefit.

I am more than used to driving high performance clutches... I prefer the feeling of something that has more grab and is heavier than stock. I seriously feel like the stock clutch in this car is pretty weak and I want to upgrade the flywheel as well. This isnt my first tuned car and I understand the consequences of my choices. That being said do you have any helpful suggestions.

I'm running a Spec with no issues, but I probably wouldn't do it again if I had to. I don't particularly like the engagement. It's way too grabby and abrupt.

I had an ACT extreme duty with an unsprung six puck in my 240sx and that was pretty harsh and chartered sometimes. So I understand grabby. It does suck sometimes. That's why im looking for a happy medium. Thanks for the input.

Southbend Stage 2 daily. Drives better than stock. Contact Joe at ZSpeed, he'll know what you need.

Anyone know any implications of running a lightened flywheel? Does it mess up the synchro rev match since that uses engine speed to match against? I find the stock flywheel too heavy

it does not, been discussed over and over.

I have the Southbend Stage 2 Endurance with DXD black steel 24lbs flywheel.
Install will be in the coming months.

I"m running Z1 Fullface with lightweight flywheel. Engagement point is pretty nice but it sounds like an F250. I don't mind it cause I needed something to hold 500ft-lbs
