Pint I think my issue is just heat soak. There's a few other threads claiming acceleration lag and my issues match that as well. I already had my TB cleaned so yeah I'm just gonna assume it's heat soak due to Houston humidity and heat.

Car doesn't feel as laggy as before and I haven't noticed the random rpm drops that I used to have. We'll see how long it lasts.

Any turbo owners have issues with throttle relearn and idle air calibration after cleaning the throttles?

So far, so good.

Same issue here. 2009 AT base model 370z. No aftermarket parts except leather seats.

Starting the whole RPM-dropping-during-idle at stop lights or when parked, and would sometimes die when trying to idle - usually from a cold start.

Had the TBs cleaned + some other work, went away for a couple months, now it's back in full force - I had 3 failed back to back start attempts today after working out at the gym for about 2 hrs.

Finally got it to stay running by hitting the gas as I start the car.

Very frustrating, not too happy with Nissan, considering all the other issues I've had with the Z

edit: I should mention this started showing up around 60k miles, at 68k right now

Thought mine was back to doing it but it turned out to be my battery going out. So far, so good still.

Merkicus 09-02-2014 12:13 AM

Might want to keep an eye on that. Battery going out isn't going to show up as RPM drops and successful ignitions where the idle dies. You'll have slowed turnover and things like that.

10 bucks says it happens again within a month despite having a new battery.

I know I just replaced my battery THIS year - maybe 3-4 months ago. At the dealership, after being told my 1ish year old battery was going bad.

Tempted to take it into the dealership (Courtesy Nissan in Dallas) but I haven't been impressed with those guys actually knowing what they're doing.

edit: I read on another forum someone claiming a 'proper fuel injecting cleaning service' took care of the issue for him. Not sure what he meant, check here:http://www.nissanclub.com/forums/eng...alls-dies.html

Cleaned tb's and still have issue.

Justice97 10-14-2014 01:50 PM

I was having the same issues as you guys have pointed out. I also cleaned throttle body and it went away. Difference. I took mine in to get the CEL checked out. They reprogrammed something and said there was a service bulletin to reprogram the computer. Don't know if you have had that done, but it might fix the prob you are having.

edit... Clean the MAP sensor as well. Don't just clean the Throttle bodies.

Mine cleared after the MAF and TB cleaning. I recently got Uprev'd though and haven't had any similar occurrences.
