I have my complete kit from NST. They made good on the group buy for me.

I wish NST had better communication with the process and how long it was really going to take. I think a lot of head aches could have been avoided.

nismo13807 06-06-2014 11:45 PM

Cbtech 06-09-2014 07:34 PM

Got my belt and pulleys. Installed

brucelidat 06-09-2014 08:02 PM

notice anything feeling different?

Minato 06-09-2014 09:53 PM

bit more responsive revs, especially noticeable at low rpm.

brucelidat 06-09-2014 11:13 PM

I'm hoping for a noticeable difference when I install mine (I'm doing LTH at the same time)

Glad to see that NST finally delivered. Happy for you guys who stuck it out. It is a good product.

SuperDave 06-10-2014 02:41 PM

For those of you that got the UD kit. What numbers are marked on your belt, or, what size belt is it?

Cbtech 06-10-2014 08:16 PM

so does anyone have the belt size and code for the underdrive kit?

PW370z 06-13-2014 10:36 PM

I was able to do the install myself with hand tools and a 4' pipe. You WILL need to remove the radiator fans and move the overflow tank, but not the radiator itself. With those items out of the way, I could release the tension on the belt with my 1/2 breaker bar + 3/8ths adapter (to fit in the tension socket). Then loosen the bolt from the top of the engine bay with a 19mm impact socket attached to the breaker bar, covered by the four foot pipe for leverage. I also had to lock the drive shaft against the frame with the OEM tire iron (this tip is posted somewhere on the forum). I was able to remove the pulley by wedging the breaker bar between the engine and pulley and wiggling it. It eventually slid off without too much force. A pulley puller might be a better choice. The NST pulley slid on with no effort.

I didn't install the overdrive alternator pulley, as it appeared that there was no way to remove the OEM pulley without an impact wrench. It spins freely and I was not willing to figure out a way to stop it from spinning, for fear of damaging the alternator itself.

gbrettin 06-14-2014 09:56 AM

I just had my pulley kit installed. I'm happy with the results. The engine revs a bit quicker and seems like it has a touch more power.

PW370z 06-16-2014 02:41 PM

Hey guys. Just received my pulley kit today. I ordered black, but was sent blue. This is not a big deal. I ordered the CR-Lite pulleys, and just wanted to make sure that I received the correct pulleys and not the underdrive pulleys. Is there any way to tell? I am only worried b/c I received the wrong color, which could mean that I received the underdrive pulleys instead of the CR-Lite pulleys. Thanks.

I think you got the right one because the openings are different on the ud pulley. Why did you get an alternator pulley if you aren't going ud?

Look back a few posts and you'll see what I mean.

Thanks man. I got the alternator pulley b/c it is lightweight, even though it is not the underdrive one.

Cbtech 06-16-2014 08:50 PM

Interesting that they didnt brand their Lite set. you can always put it up to your current pulley and compare the sizing.

Yes, it is interesting that they didn't engrave their CR-Lite pulleys. It is the same design as the Unorthodox Racing one :stirthepot:. Don't have access to the car right now, or else I would have just put it up to my current pulleys and compare the size. Thanks man.

Cbtech 06-24-2014 06:54 PM

So i got mine a couple weeks ago and the build quality is very nice and clean.

http://www.the370z.com/members/cbtec...sh-out-box.jpg

A few words of advise when pulling the old one off.
  1. Take off the radiator fan - its only 3 bolts and 6 clips pull up and fish out the right side - no need to take off the radiator hose (makes for a lot of room to work)
  2. Use a good size breaker bar
  3. ***HUGE ONE HERE*** - Make sure on the manuals the car is in 6th gear
  4. When placing the tire iron in the differential be careful not to rest the iron against the aluminum shifter control arms
  5. When putting on the alternator pulley on take both bolts out and tip it down no need to take off the sway bar. USE A IMPACT GUN the bolt comes off stupid easy

The stock pulley is CRAZY heavy...

Losta room with the fan out

http://www.the370z.com/members/cbtec...ive-pulley.jpg

Make sure you're in 6th gear or this will happen

http://www.the370z.com/members/cbtec...ive-pulley.jpg

And dont let the wedge rest against the control arm or this will happen

Good call Cbtech, although when I put my Stillen one on I just left the rear wheels on the ground. Other than that those are some great tips. Now if I could just get my damn car back from the body shop to install these and my seats...

Zdayz 2014!!

Minato 06-24-2014 07:51 PM

Holy ****, thanks for taking the bullet and warning us about the dangers of the tire iron method!

gbrettin 06-25-2014 05:24 PM

It's not necessary to take the front end of your car apart. My install was done with out removing anything from the car (other than the stock pulley and alternator pulley).
Good write up none the less.

you're right you can do it without taking the fans or alternator off but you cannot get an impact in to take the bolt off of the alt without doing so. You can use a strap wrench and a socket to muscle the alternator pulley off.

Guys i want to buy pulley kit from NST. Do you think this is a good idea?

I love the pulleys, but I bought them from a forum member. It would seem that NST can't keep up with demand for their pulleys. Unlike Fast Intentions, who also has crazy demand, NST chooses to stay silent about the status of their orders. They could learn a thing or two about how to treat customers.

Personally, I would wait until more members are reporting delivery of their pulleys before ordering a set.

Huck 06-29-2014 11:57 AM

I got mine, albeit after like 5 months of waiting. If they can verify that they have a set in stock for you then I say go for it, they're actually good pulleys. But the people that run NST have horrible customer service and do not follow through on their word, so I would be wary of giving them my money again.

dimitarm 06-29-2014 02:34 PM

i wrote mail to them and they said they have the pulleys in stock, ready to ship. should i trust them?

Huck 06-29-2014 11:36 PM

Up to you man. We had a bad experience, but we did eventually get what we paid for. Just took 5 months.

Zdayz 2014!!

brucelidat 06-29-2014 11:47 PM

A lot of drama could have been avoided if they just had a realistic time estimate and communicated with us. It's okay if it takes a long time as long as you let us know up front it will take a long time.

If they say they have them in stock, I'd trust them. I got mine in like 3-4 days

axmea? 06-30-2014 12:24 AM

Go for it.

nismo13807 06-30-2014 03:42 PM

go for it if you want it.. worst thing that can happen is it will take a few months before you get it.. but in the end, you will receive the product.

NonStopTuning 07-02-2014 11:32 AM

All back-orders and/or group buy orders have shipped as of a couple weeks ago, and new inventory of kits is in stock.

Thanks all!

dimitarm 07-07-2014 04:47 PM
