If going to these pullies, I would say the shorter belt is a must have. I saw in another thread that their stock belt had 1/2" of play and if your's is the same I would imagine that can't be good at all.

Couple questions.

Earlier in this epic thread, some issues with the stock belt were brought up. I see now on your web site that you offer a belt option, so does that mean I need that belt, or will the stock one work ?

Also the shopping cart does not provide an option to select what color I want ? I don't see how you select whether you want under or over alternator option with the kit as well.

Thank you! We recommend using the belt that we list on our website. This belt has proven to work very well on the 370Z.

The shopping cart allows you to enter a note with your color preference at the end of the ordering process. This is where you enter your color choice.

The two pulleys that we offer for this application are:
Underdrive Crank Pulley NST13710
Overdrive Alternator Pulley NST13722
the TWO PIECE KIT is NST13710K

Thanks again!

I installed the belt listed on the NST website, Gates K070786 today. It takes care of the issue with the relaxed tensioner and slack from the use of the stock belt. Buy the belt with the kit and you will have all you need to install your kit with peace of mind. Check out my Journal for picks. I'll post video when my CBE's get in.

do you need the K070786 Belt if you're getting the 2 pulleys?

How long should I expect the install time with the two pulleys? I wanna make sure the mechanic quotes me the adequate time to get them installed.

On a new-ish car a competent mechanic shouldn't spend more than an hour or two on this really. Drop the front swaybar out of the way, maybe pull the radiator fan assembly out of the way, lock up the flywheel and break the tough-ish crankshaft bolt loose, then it's just a simple matter of replacing the pulleys and buttoning everything back up. It took me a longer, but I was doing it at home and without second set of hands present to help with breaking the crankshaft bolt loose.

Got my pulley kit in the mail today! Should have it installed by Sarurday afternoon.

What do you guys have to say about all these rumors of lightweight pulleys seizing up on the crank?

Please review the first few pages of this thread for very detailed discussion and answers to your question.

In addition, feel free to review the 30+ pages to this point, in this thread, and you will find no damage to any of the board members engines when NST pulleys have been used.

Thanks again!

No problem, you're welcome.

And if you take a look through the 30+ pages of this thread you will find feedback and review from people just like yourself who have REAL firsthand experience with our product.... they do not speak based on theory or formulas... they have posted their real experience with a real product. 30+ pages of nothing but positive reviews and positive experiences when NST pulleys have been used.

In addition, there are dozens of other forums where our customers have posted similar positive reviews when NST pulleys have been used on Nissans, Hondas, Toyotas, Scions, Hyundais, Lotus, etc. etc.

Thanks again, best of luck with all your projects!
