I'm still waiting for my engine. :(

Got the letter today from the Parts Dept with big red words:

"Your Parts have arrived and ready for pickup." I kinda smiled.

Anyway, if you could just look at my new thread, I would appreciate it.

Amen. I don't abuse my car whether it has 200 or 20000 miles on it, and I don't baby it either.

Oh, and zero oil loss at 800 miles.

I just changed my oil yesterday and before I pulled the plug, just out of curousity (and this thread) I checked the level. It was just below the center mark.

Yes, the sky is still up there

I own an '04.5 Touring Coupe and, after owning her for a year and ten months, I've only had to top it off twice between changes, which I do annually, since I only put anywhere from 6,000 to 7,500k on her per year. Greetings!

going to nissan tomorrow. consumption is getting worse. 605 miles since my last fill (to just below the full dot) and its near the bottom dot, which is about 1 qt. sigh.

Good luck Man! I have my new engine and it looks brand new.

Before going to the dealer, you should probably take out your cooler to eliminate any issues with Nissan. I never had one so less complicated for me.

Update on your oil consumption issue?

I have this high pitch noise in the cabin as well. Mine is not really that loud but it is there. I don’t remember it being there when I bought it either. I drive my car a lot commuting back and forth to work so I have 17,065 miles already.

I am also concerned about the oil consumption. I got my oil changed 12,800. I checked the oil at 16,800 or 3.5k since my last oil change and it was at the L. Based on this it looks like my 370z is consuming 1 quart every 3,000 – 3,500 miles. My car is past the break in period and is still consuming oil.

I just had an oil change at 17,035, I usually get it done every 4000 miles with (Nissan Ester Oil) but will start doing it every 3000 miles . I always check the oil after the change and make sure it is at the H on the dip stick or full. I will monitor this oil change to see if the Z is still consuming oil.

Do check your oil. I was down 3/4 quarts at 485 miles when I first added oil. At 2500 miles, 4 quarts have been added, and scheduled for a new short block.

I'm sorry, but this is one of the worst comments ever. A new car should not burn any oil.
