A/C shuts off on its own????

Hopefully one of yall has a fix for this or at least has experienced the same issue.

twice this past week my air conditioner has shut off on its own. i leave my car running with the A/C on and doors looked so i can take my dog places. its worked flawless for 3 years now except this past weekend. luckily i wasn't in the store long when i came back to my air blowing hot and a pissed dog. down here it wouldnt take long to kill him if i was gone much longer! :/

does it shut off if things are too hot? the car wasnt being driven hard, just normal errand running.

Yes, needs airflow to work, and since the engine on our cars runs really hot, it doesn't help the problem. How hot was it in Houston when this problem happened?

Lastly, do you have Stillen G3's or a similar intake?

I think DE is on the right track. You may be low on refrigerant and/or it's just too freaking hot in Sugar Land (TX?).

If it doesn't happen again? The doggie might of nosed the ac button or something.

haha, he wasnt in the car the second time.

If it isn't low refrigerant, I would check to see if your A/C pull-push fan is turning off. At idle, it should be running while the A/C is on.

my AC is broken.. at 8000 miles. Add that to a long list of everything else that has broken. most unreliable car ever!!
