what should I do?

Sucks cause I'm stranded at the moment.

Take it to the dealer.
Here is the link that talks about it all.

This is from MrAurora that posted this:

Update for those interested or experiancing this same issue:

I called Nissan consumer affairs (the number listed in the warranty booklet) and had them pull up the book and read the powertrain section on the phone with me. We had same book which was a pleasant surprise ! Was expecting an different version with exclusions in it but i digress... The powertrain section says "all internal parts except those listed in the not covered section" under transmission coverage. He read the not covered section aloud and it says NOTHING about excluding the slave and that it's covered. He gave me a case number and contact info. I then called the dealer and the gods were kind to me. The Bob-inator was on vacation and i was transferred to a woman who knew her stuff. To make a long story short, she thinks its in the nissan computer wrong because the slave in our cars is not dedicated, its integrated with the throwout bearing and therefor part of the powertrain and should be covered. So as of right now i am scheduled to have the work done under the powertrain warranty on thursday.

A new 370 or just anything?

Why is it everyday I browse this forum bored at work I read a Nissan failure

Chuck33079 08-07-2013 12:22 PM

It may be worth your time to see if the dealer will let you bring them an aftermarket CSC to install. You'll have to pay for the part, but it's far sturdier than the OEM plastic one.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I'm going to see if I can get everything installed under warranty. If not hello aftermarket CSC and a light weight flywheel.

because this board is based on a car that's made by Nissan. :ugh2:

I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that the same would be true for any car forum out there.

If you complained about your Ford, Chevy, Toyota etc. here, we would just pile on asking why not complain elsewhere.

With as many sold, I would expect 1% to break down. More if British.

Quick (unchecked) math: 36,500 sold 365 days per year, one per day.

luigi90210 08-07-2013 01:27 PM

Well I am praying everything is covered and the car gets fixed soon. Its my DD since my DSM is broken as well XD.

On a good note, I'm watching cartoons at the dealer right now while I wait for their shuttle driver to get back.

Because no one bothers make a topic like "My 370 has been running great!" as it does 99% of the time. I figured that was common sense. :ugh2:

That, and the fact he looks for negative threads to chime in about the (going from memory) "rough coarse engine" and "worst 6mt in the business".

Clutch sticking to the floor, not going into gear
i knew my CSC was going out because the clutch engagement point was super low

honestly dont worry too much about it unless you start having the signs, if you do replace them though, get an aftermarket CSC as its made of metal and it will last a lot longer than the nissan one

UPDATE
Everything is being covered under warranty and im installing a JWT lightweight flywheel and heavy duty clutch since the tranny is already taken apart

They're installing an aftermarket CSC as well, right? Otherwise the aftermarket clutch will kill the OEM CSC faster.

no, warranty is only covering the stock CSC

im only using this to install the flywheel and clutch so the dealer wont charge me a bunch for install and the dealer is giving me a good deal on the JWT clutch and flywheel, my service advisor told me if i went with an aftermarket one, i would be paying for the whole install

Chuck33079 08-08-2013 07:44 AM

Then go ahead and buy the HD CSC and keep it on the shelf. The OEM one tends to fail faster with beefier clutches. Might as well have the part on hand if it goes again. I have a feeling that the install will be out of your own pocket since the dealer will look at the aftermarket clutch and tell you that's what caused the failure.

Z-Girl 12 08-08-2013 11:09 AM

awesome, thanks. all is well with mine thus far at 20k.
