GTM Performance Engineering: High Capacity Oil Pan w/oil baffling system (8qts)
We're happy to announce our newly developed High Capacity Oil Pan. Here are some of the details about our oil pan.
The first batch of 150 pans are coming (100 for our MHI turbo kit group buy and an additional 50 for those that want this pan by itself) and should be here, ready to ship within 30 days. These will be available on a first come, first serve basis and can be purchased with or without the baffling system. Here is the link to the new oil pan on our website: GTM Motorsports*::*ENGINE EXTERNALS*::*Oil Pans & Spacers*::*GTM BAFFLED HIGH CAPACITY ALUMINUM OIL PAN ( 8 QUARTS) Here are some of the pictures of our pan and baffling system: http://s313.photobucket.com/user/GTM...15cfc.jpg.html http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...psc45f8f2d.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps0fca1932.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...psb49f89a2.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps5899e2ce.jpg http://s313.photobucket.com/user/GTM...cb91c.jpg.html http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps3785078c.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...psac3ca6c9.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps0fdb99f8.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps12fe3059.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps83f4bb70.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps3e3941bf.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...psbaf71b1c.jpg http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps63221d7d.jpg |
That's a far more reasonable price than I was expecting. Good job, guys. Putting one on the wish list now. So with your 34r oil cooler, were looking at 9 qts of capacity?
|
Nice!
Do you guys have any picture side by side with stock? |

Mike, by saying "Designed to work on 2012+ cars with factory oil cooler" do you mean it will not work in any way with 2011- cars? or it will work but with some aditional mods.?
|
Will it come with block-off plates for the turbo oil returns for those that aren't turbo? IMO, should come with them pre-installed for the same price.
Also, the wording of the product page makes it sound like the baffling and gating doesn't come with it for that price, that it will be extra for those features. Is this the case? If so, what will the "complete" price be? |

There is a drop down box to select with or without the baffles. Without the baffles, the oil pan is $416.50. With the baffles, the pan is $480.26. |

Thanks! |
It is a great price for you NA guys. And obvious the GTM pan comes with hardware unlike the Greddy pans.
|
nice !

Will you have to relocate the oil filter, or will it still be serviceable in it's stock location? Is there any type of concave or slope to the pan to help with draining?
|
Weight vs stock?

The stock one is a super thin (admittedly steel) piece of junk. This is a cast aluminum piece with some real meat to it. Plus, it'll be holding an extra couple quarts of oil, which you may have noticed at some point weighs a bit. Lucky for us, it's at least as low in the engine as it can possibly be. |
Mike,
Looks like Replacing the Oil Filter becomes a PITA with this Pan. Any photos of it installed looking toward the oil filter. I like the idea, but just wondering if you can still access the oil Filter. thanks, C |
You guys worry to much.

So I am guessing that the oil from the oil filter drains onto the top of the pan when it's removed making a nice mess, is this correct or does it channel off somewhere? What is the crank/slinger clearance with the baffles installed & is there any problems getting a near full drain with the baffles?
Thanks :tiphat:, my intrest in this pan is growing. http://i313.photobucket.com/albums/l...ps83f4bb70.jpg |

There is about 4" or so of clearance between the crankshaft and the top of our baffle. The crankshaft barely protrudes below the main caps and on top of that, there is the upper oil pan before our lower oil pan. See the attached pics for an illustration. As for the baffles preventing a full drain, it is better than the stock pan for sure. Take a look at the pictures we posted of the factory oil pan and you can clearly see all the places where oil will not be able to drain from. The floor of our oil pan is flat in comparison and only a very small amount of residue will remain when you do an oil change compared to the factory pan. |
Can we buy these yet?

Well today I had the opportunity to see both the Greddy pan & the GTM pan side by side. There is no comparison, the GTM pan is the better way to go. Advantages are, more capacity, no trimming of the sheet metal as it is a direct fit, includes oil pickup tube extension & all hardware to install (Greddy does not) 1 way baffles keeping oil at the pickup tube instead of Greddys fixed baffles. Deeper heat sink fins & more surface area for better cooling. Needless to say I bought the GTM pan today http://www.gixxer.com/forums/images/smilies/banana.gif
Thank you Mike for your great service with me just popping by & to Sam for having Jason fab up some block off plates for me while I waited. I truly appreciated that  Pablo thank you for making sure I had everything I needed. Thank you all again :tiphat: you have a great oil pan & now I do too. :happydance: Rob |
Did it help your oil temps?
|
I'm really liking this product as well but have a question:
I use the ZSpeed aluminum undershroud, the one that has the oil change door. Is that still going to fit and is the drain plug in much of a different place than the OEM pan? Do you know if I will still be able to get to the filter if I do not remove the whole cover? |
The trap door is nice but if any time I'm under my car I'd remove it. Since you there (under the car) take the time to inspect all components threw out the bay.
