Default Oilzum - WTF?

Took my car to the dealership for a scheduled oil change. Usually they use Mobil 1 Synthetic but they said they changed brands. I asked what they use and they replied "special Nissan ester oil". I'm thinking "fine by me" and I wait for them to finish. Once they're done, they left me a half-a-bottle of oil that wasn't used up - and it was something called Oilzum (5W30 Synthetic). Anyone ever heard of this brand?

from the explaination i got from the stealership, its to keep valvetrain noise down. its recommended but not required. it was also way overpriced. im good with regular damn oil, thanks. it doesnt mess with warranty, so i don't care. my clutch chatters louder than the motor anyway

Nissan Ester oil has been discussed 500 times. And yes, to keep the valve chatter down.

As for the oilzum you were given... Um... No, go back and tell them to do a Nissan Ester Oil change and to take that crap back

I believe that oil company dates back to 1915 in one form or another.this company must have bought the naming rights.

Ester based oils are MUCH more resistant to shear which is important on a VQ37HR which has no OEM cooler before 2012 model year. Redline 5w30 is what I would recommend as my preferred ester based oil for these cars.

Thanks,
