Mine has been doing this for a while now. Base 370z. Took it to the dealer and they wouldn't do anything bc it wouldn't do it at that moment. Odd enough, when mine revs up, if I hit the floorboard(or whatever is down there) behind the gas pedal with the side of my foot. The rpm's drop immediately most of the time

Ohh, and mine will rev up while in neutral to over 2k rpm's and just sit there or go higher, normally no higher than 3k though. If its reving up and I engage the clutch, the rpms shoot down immediately but jump right back up with I push the clutch pedal back in.

One other suggestion is to clean your throttle bodies (really easy) and then perform all of the relearns as this usually helps with idle and throttle response. |

Lol, been using that name for 15 years since I had my old Z, just kind of stuck and I figured it's still kind of relevant here...lol. Strangely enough, I haven't noticed the surging as much with the "S mode" disengaged. It still happens periodically but not every stop light as before. I didn't know that about the clutch. I really hope there is indeed something wrong with mine. I would hate to think this is how it is supposed to shift. If I was really going through the gears all the time, I could probably deal with it, but most of my driving is in town, stop and go stuff. I can't make a smooth shift at all, unless I wait about 3-4 seconds between each shift for the rpm's to come back down....and that's no fun at all (at least for me it's not). |

I've looked a few times but will look again for a leak. It's been doing it for a while now but its not every time the car comes on. its only every now and then but frustrating bc my car is so loud and it does it sometimes when I'm in a parking lot or at a red light.
