I have a stock sports model 370Z.

Do I need the Quaife?

Will it help me with better launching?

I do not plan to tack my car atm, maybe in the future yes.

I have an OS Giken 1.5 way. Make sure you do diff bushings and something with the subframe. I did Nismo subframe bushings. You will also want to do a diff cooler if you go with a clutch type diff. You won't need it if you do a Wavetrac. I would also recommend a Bellworks diff brace. It will need to be modified if you have a Fast Intentions exhaust or the like.

I run a Wavetrac and the rest I agree with Spooler other than if you plan on track days and run twisty canyon runs get a diff cooler. Mine got hot on the Dragon!

We all pretty much run MA Motorsports rear diff cooler. Nissan has a Nismo rear diff cooler which z1 time attack car. I'm not sure what the Nismo tax is on it!

You added a diff cooler to your Wavetrac?

Can you explain how a Wavetrac is different than a Quaife? I cannot find much on it

Yep after the last trip I had it on the Dragon. I could smell hot diff fluid as it was plucking some out. I figured more safe than sorry. I never experienced it on the track as you don't 118 in eleven miles is hard on the diff. It only happened on down hill runs.

The Z1 Nismo diff cooler is $2,388.00 for the kit. The MAM is around $1,000.00.

Didn't know The Dragon got you too. My crap was puking all over the place. I did a back to back runs. Oops. I am ready for next year. Diff cooler is installed and good to go. No switches for me, it comes on via a Thermostatic switch MA installed for me. I do have a backup in the car for fluid changes and such.

JARblue 12-12-2019 07:48 AM

The MA cooler costs more than the diff cost me :ugh:
