What we can expect from the 370Z

Looked to see if anyone's posted this yet, and I'm surprised I didn't find it (or maybe my search skills are lacking).

From my350Z.com:

Just in case you guys didnt follow my other thread here are my final numbers ... Mods , Injen Cold Air Intake , Stillen Headers Jet Hot Coated , Berk HighFlow Cats , FastIntentions Catback Exaust ( Newer Version Round Canisters ) and Custom Tuned with Cobb A.P. Its going to show stock run and final modded run .. Let me know what you think ..Numbers are for my G37......
This is VERY impressive and VERY promising as to what we can expect out of the 370Z.

Discuss.

Im sorry I am very confused. Could you explain to me real quick why the stock car in the first chart makes 315rwhp and then on the second chart it makes 260rwhp stock?

I mean the gains largely depend on this. If the car makes 260 stock then we are talking about a 90whp change. If we take 315 stock then the gains are more realistic at like 45hp.

350whp on bolt ons though???? sign me up!!

Even at 310rwhp sign me up!

where did that quote come from, who wrote it...lol...???

bboypuertoroc 12-11-2008 06:00 PM

The first run was two different states of mods. The second graph was stock compared to all the mods. It specifies it in the .PDF title.

That is absolutely amazing! VQ is a beast to begin with. It reacts really good with mods. I can see the newer VQ from the 370Z react even better than the G37. I should also say that Z being lighter, you'll feel a lot more raw power. Good dyno

bboypuertoroc 12-11-2008 06:15 PM

^ That's what I'm hoping for. I'll actually be able to hold off on boost for a little with that much power on tap (plus a small bottle, of course ;) ).

I'm assuming your EVO is modified. How much HP?

Considering that its the same exact engine, power should be the same. But, like you said, the 370Z is significantly lighter than the G37.

The car must feel like a beast!

Sharif@Forged 12-11-2008 10:49 PM

Having dyno tested a half dozen VQ37's in the G37, I would expect the same 250whp bone stock on our dyno. With some bolt on mods, an easy 270-280whp.....or over 300whp on a typical dynojet. This engine is a top end monster, and loves to rev. It makes power nearly all the way to redline.

Here is our baseline VQ37 bone stock...50 miles on the odometer, if I recall correctly. :)

I haven't dyno'd the car in over 2 years now. Back then I put down 336awhp/322awtq. Before I started taking my car apart it was most likely ~360awhp/360awtq. After I get this damn thing back together I should be putting down ~450awhp/400awtq on pump.

Negative. I got a FP Evo Red turbo.

RCZ 12-12-2008 05:56 PM

Oh ok, I had a 30R on my STI and it made around the same power your new setup will make. Probably a little bit less. Closer to 380-390whp.

SnakeBitten 12-13-2008 05:29 AM

BBoy you keeping the EVO and getting the 370z? Best of both worlds baller :ughdance: :)

ACEMAN 12-18-2008 02:27 PM

Looking forward to seeing what kind of HP and TQ we can get out of the new engine.

Unforunately, the 30R is now obsolete due to the Evo Red (well, in the Evo world, anyways). The Red is THE all-around bad-***. Little bit slower than stock spool (~500-600rpm difference), 9 second time slips, 145+ traps.

If I get the 370Z the Evo is going buh-bye.

I'd love to keep both, but two >$450 car payments won't work on one income.

Just living the dream... living the dream.....

Soo, your keeping the EVO?

You know you want another car to dump parts into.. Dooooo iiiittttt!!

Todd

bboypuertoroc 12-18-2008 03:20 PM

****, I'm not made of money lke some people. One car for modding is my limit.

LiquidZ 12-18-2008 11:08 PM

Am I reading this right? An 80 hp gain with tune, full exhaust, and intake?

Really? I'm a little skeptical.

18rgcelica73 12-23-2008 11:18 PM

Well regardless of how much these parts will put out this engine is rediculously awesome.

Endgame 12-23-2008 11:31 PM

Are you kidding me? Almost 350 WHP on:

CAI
Full exhaust (headers included)
HFCs
Cobb AP Tune???

GOOD LORD!!!! All I want is about 305 - 310 WHP and I am sold!! At least I know the ability exist for me to make a true Baby Godzilla!!!

Thank you Nissan for giving us a mean bastard of a car from the factory and allowing us to truly make it into a little monster!!! Audi TT RS, Cayman S, BMW Z4M... LOOK OUT!!

80whp gain...no way.
From what've seen with the VQ37, you can expect about 20-30whp improvement MAX, and that's throwing everything at the stock motor, plus tuning.

you will get 305 with those mods but not 350, that's just pushing it.....lol

18rgcelica73 12-24-2008 10:51 AM

I guess it all depends also on the dyno and altitude you are at.

305?? How do you justify the dyno reading?? Or am I misinterpetting your comment??

nogoodname 12-24-2008 11:33 AM

^^ to the wheels i'm taking about...not flywheel

baseline should be around 275-285

That is what I thought.

Thanks.

Endgame 12-24-2008 01:43 PM

So what is everyone's thought on the Dyno chart?? Fabricating?

18rgcelica73 12-26-2008 01:00 PM

Well if it is a hub attached dynomometer then the numbers are you inflated 20+ horse power due to it not losing anything from the weight of the wheels/tires and the friction of the road surface.

Endgame 12-26-2008 02:29 PM

Ahh.. That makes sense. Even with that, the gains they show are still REALLY impressive....

Didn't even think about this.

The chart says it's a mustang dyno. That complicates things further as they are the lowest reading dyno's.

What you're thinking of is a dynopack dyno.

Same for me, if I get the 370 then the Evo has to go. Oddly enough we have the same payments.

Crash 12-26-2008 05:24 PM

450/mo??? How much are you putting down and planning to spend on the car?

For my Evo is was around $32k and then $5k down, making my payment $455. That's for 72 months. However if I keep the car it will be paid off before that.

Crash 12-26-2008 05:57 PM

OH! 72 months! For a second I thought you had like NO interest at all.

My Trans Am was 22K when I bought it and my payments were 400/mo. But it was for 48 months.
