Replaced battery, now having issues starting car.

I replaced the car battery and the key fob batteries in november. Right after doing so, I started noticing the engine wouldn't start every time. It would go a few days where it would start up perfectly then it would go back to being intermittent on when it would start up the first time. This past week it would take me about 5-10min to get the engine to turn on. I can hear the steering lock disengaging as well. Over the wknd I did remove the battery cables and let it sit hoping it would reset but i am still getting the same issue. Like i said, I'm still able to start the car after a while of trying but its pretty annoying, I didnt want to take it in to the dealer if I didnt need to, I was hoping there may be something i was overlooking.
