Default A few easy questions

I just installed the gold series stillen oil cooler.
Questions: 1. It takes 25 minutes driving the car under 3000 rpm (I read this was a must until the oil temp reached 180) when ambient temps here are 70 degrees to reach an oil temp of 180 degrees. Is it accurate that I can't drive the car harder until oil temp reaches 180 degrees? 2. Would you guys still recommend adjusting the fan cycle to turn on at lower temps? 3. Does disconnecting the battery return ecu to stock or does the base uprev still stick around? I added an exhaust and I want to reset the ecu. Thanks

I would allow the oil to reach proper temps before really giving her the beans LOL. I remember one guy on the forum had an oil pressure gauge hooked up to his Z and he told us the pressure was really high until the temps warmed up.

1: you don't necessarily need to stay under 3k past the first few minutes of driving. I wouldn't wail on it, but trying to stay under 3k is a bit ambitious. You might look into a partial block off plate to run at times when it is cooler out, to help things warm up more quickly. If it is taking 25 minutes to warm up in the 70s, you'd definitely need one when it gets colder.

2: what would you like to accomplish here?

3: the tune is stored in PROM, so it will remain through a power reset.

In answer to your question. Many forum members have lowered the temperature where the fan turns on. The climate here most of the year is around 90 to 100°. Wouldn't I be keeping my car more healthy and cooler if I was to adjust the fan temp duty cycle as well? Thanks

Shamrock - Can you explain in details on how to adjust that temperature? Is it a DIY or a dealer job?

Thanks.

Hey, does anyone remember the link to the discussion where one attached a cable to the oil temperature and oil pressures?

It's something you can have changed when you get an uprev tune.
