Z1 when are you ready to do some VVEL tuning to a TT 370z?

Whenever you're ready!

red6spd 11-02-2012 09:05 AM

So Z1 has some headers like the ones you have in the works? And they are shorties?

cheshirecat 11-02-2012 09:13 AM

Simply amazing. Curious as to how much the vvel adjustments helped.

I too am very curious. I wish we couldve had a dyno run before and after vvel adjustments just to see which is adding so much power, VVel or the headers. I wanna see how my Ark+FILTH setup compares to this with VVEL added in.

Legz 11-02-2012 10:42 AM

Does the VVEL tuning needs to be done in house or can GTM do it through their etune for FI guys?

After tuning the VVEL we had to tweak other areas of the tune. This makes it hard to perform a before and after due to some changes making the power drop and others gaining a tad. I can tell you now that this power is not made mostly through VVEL tuning. Did it help? Yes, we gained but it was not as simple as hit this number and bam more power. With that said headers added more power than VVEL tuning.

Once we have enough maps created for different combos we will include a tuned VVEL map(password protected) on our e tunes.

Good work mike and Z1... That is some killer power. Mikes car is going to kick some serious *** on the road course. I think the 370s are going to be proving a lot the next year or two on the battlefield.

Jordo, just PM John@Z1 for info. He is the tuner.

cams and ur tune should net 350+whp. This is more exciting news than any FI kit.

370Z JT 11-02-2012 02:33 PM

Any info on the momentum headers for the 370Z?

they dont exist. Momentum closed.

370Z JT 11-02-2012 03:27 PM

^ I thought z1 is going to make it?

daisuke149 11-02-2012 03:32 PM

ahh those. you'd have to ask Z1 about those lol.

lemon-fresh 11-02-2012 03:37 PM

An ETA on those headers would be great. My modding path with this car changes almost weekly with all the recent advances being made... Very exciting!

Will you be getting any more in stock? Or will this permanently be the last batch?

We will have more recreated and changed to our specs. We just have to work out the details after SEMA.

Sweet! Hopefully we can get duplicate HP gains as OP. Ill be sure to purchase a set :D

BigT 11-02-2012 06:56 PM

That is awesome. 350 NA whp is freakin sweet. I'm more impressed with the torque figure. 275 to the wheels is no joke with a smooth powerband like that.

370ZNISMO#704 11-02-2012 07:10 PM

Omg I feel like a giddy school girl hahahah. IM IN FOR A SET. My base line with just muffler delete was 296. I can't wait to get these headers the art test pipes a custom resonated x pipe and m370 and my GENIII's and tune maybe cams dear god. 360rwhp? Maybe?

Mandingo 11-02-2012 08:40 PM

Nice Z1. You're sitting on a gold mine!

I'd love to see a version for the 370 so I can keep the rest of my exhaust setup the same.

if you're making some, why not just make some that match upto the 370z test pipe??

im tempted now. dont tempt me :gtfo2:

Interesting, any chance we can see a recent baseline on this particular Dynojet with a stock Z?

understood - noticed the header flange to cat has subtle difference... but
will it then fit my MD E370 CBE from CAT flange to Ypipe? I believe it should...:ughdance:

sfearl1 11-02-2012 11:01 PM

Are you confident that your tweaked design will make power over the Momentum version? Estimated price on the Z1 headers?

370Z JT 11-03-2012 01:02 AM

Were you wheel setup the same in both dyno runs?

Mike 11-03-2012 06:33 AM

I think I had lighter wheels in the 305 runs.

Jordo! 11-03-2012 07:57 AM

Just curious, what are the diameters of the primaries on these headers?

**I am not 100% sure, more like 95% lol*** but a few weeks back, we had a big dyno day at Z1 and if I remember correctly a 2012 stock made 280whp. Rob or Jon can chime in or I can ask the owner tomorrow when I see him. Either way it was in the low 280's for a stock baseline.

Please understand that no 370Z set-up is the same. Mike's is the highest hp 370Z NA we have dyno tuned to date. With Mike's permission and funding of his project since the vehicle was purchased we've been able to test a few good ideas that truly worked.

For similar results you will need the combo of mods and tune that we've spent a great deal of time and effort on. I'm really not sure on the number of shops that are willing to put the effort into what we have to get the gains that we have achieved.

This set-up is a combo of mods and tuning that our shop has come up with in the last couple of months that show significant gains in performance of the 370Z NA platform. If you would like the set-up for this power please contact us and set-up an appointment today:tup:.

That's about right. We've also had them dyno as low 273rwhp.

ChrisSlicks 11-03-2012 09:46 AM

Was a 1.0 correction factor used for all pulls?

If so, impressive gains through the entire RPM range.

The same correction factor is used on every vehicle we dyno.

Alstann 11-03-2012 11:48 AM

If you guys make a set that will bolt up to our TP/HFC's, I'm so down to get a set! Those gains are incredible! Maybe the NA platform on our cars can finally be good enough to play with the faster cars. ^^

You will not see the same gains as Mike with just the headers but you will see good gains.
