Default Clutch Grinding in 2nd and 3rd

On the way into work this week ive noticed a strange grinding feel and noise when shifting from 1-2 and 2-3 and maybe 3-4....

Its not the normal chatter we have all come accustomed to with our Zs. Its more of a grinding feel that i can feel in the clutch pedal itself. the best way i can describe it, is that it feels as if i can feel the gears contacting and grinding til they connect... I can feel all this on the clutch pedal......and I am pushing the clutch pedal past the engagement point..
This seems to only happen in the morning on the way to work. Has anyone else had this problem? Ive done some searching on this site and came up empty.

2009 370z 6mt sport with 49,000 miles - transmission fluid replaced by Nissan my last scheduled maintenance. This is my daily driver but i do drive it somewhat hard. Ive been driving a manual for about 15 years so i dont think its my driving thats causing the problem. I do ride the clutch on occasion but not more than the average.... ie, traffic

I have noticed the occasional clutch slippage between 3-4 when giving it all its got. but this happens sporadically.

You ride the clutch on occasion? That plus the 49K miles would leave me to believe you need a new clutch.

I only have 20k miles and i feel the same thing you do. I am pretty sure its the clutch though because once i warm it up really good giving it a few pumps or after driving for five minutes it goes away entirely. im about to pull the trigger on a new clutch and flywheel and clutch lines to see if it helps

Check the color of your clutch fluid first to make sure you just don't have burned fluid that needs to be replaced.

Is it kind of a.. notchy feeling? I get it from 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 (rarely) too. Loudest is from 2-3. It doesn't feel like grinding, but I can very much feel it through both the shifter and the clutch pedal when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Also makes this loud but smooth noise when it gets into gear, kind of like an engaging notch sound. I think the transmission is making the sound.. Is that the same sound you're getting? When I first bought my car used it had that sound, can't tell if it's gotten worse or not. I'm at 28.4k miles, 09 Z with sports package as well

its a notchy feeling, almost like the gears are trying to engage. but its not the normal notchy feeling we are used to with the z. the sound is almost a crunch, but not quite. very hard to describe

I cant believe i forgot to mention this. The other day i did a couple of burn-outs on my worn tires before getting the new put on. On the last burnout, i shifted into second and the clutch slipped the entire 2nd gear and part of 3rd. It wasnt until i noticed it was the clutch and not my tires burning did i stop. All of this happened after the problems ive been having, so i seriously doubt that caused what was already a problem.

its starting to get worse now..... i can get it to grind every gear until the transmission warms up. it will also continue to grind after shifting into first at a stop light.... hmmm. Its starting to seem more like the problem alot of people are having with syncros and 5th gear grind. Mine has never grinded 5th gear from what i can recall....

Replace the transmission. It starts off as an occasional grind, and it progressively gets worse.
