I know

I think for daily driving for normal people the way its set up feels more correct... BUT if the gear shifter was like it is on a real sequential with the big all shifter, then fuuck yeah I want it reversed, lol

That's what I mean, it should be laid out the way a sequential is. There's sound logic behind it. When you're braking and downshifting, your body/arm is being pushed forward naturally, and when you're accelerating and upshifting, the opposite. So having foward be downshift and back be upshift keeps the shifter movement in sync with the natural forces on your body.

Related to the hand-position stuff though, I do wish someone would release a simple wiring harness to switch the Up/Down direction on the 7AT's shifter, it's backwards from how it should be. Someone linked an upcoming Mine's product, but no release yet AFAIK and probably $500 for a short piece of wire knowing Mine's.
i have already done this. just swap a couple wires. less than 30 min job , with beer break included. linky... http://www.the370z.com/diy-section-d...irections.html

Oh how did I miss that? I kept thinking someday I'd get un-lazy and figure out which two wires myself, and here it's been sitting on the forum already done for me for like a year and a half :)

put a set of 4.08 gears in the 7 AT and shift in the MM .
toally different car. set the limiter at 8000 rpm with a few bolt on and hang on . the ride is wild.

I guess while you test-drive different examples (auto vs. man), see which one you would prefer to live with day in/ day out. The only model which doesn't give you a choice is the Nismo: u gotta have the manual.
The manual might take some practice to get good at driving it: when you get it perfect, it'll be a good feeling. An automatic is nice and smooth: you'll have a free hand while driving if you want to hold a drink or talk on the phone. I like both types of tranny; however, I chose an Auto :-).
