Honestly for me I think it a waste of money, especially for you guys over there with that rate of labor, here in Thailand I would say a cam swap in a Z34 would cost 100USD max, depending on if the shop is famous or not.

Sadly, a friend of mine already sell his car for a 430Scud and had not document his dyno run or keep a sheet, but he said the baseline was 285whp and after all the mods installed he claimed 350whp on dynojet.

20 more whp from normal full bolt ons, for 500USD on cams set and 3000USD on IMPULs plus US labor, you decide if this worth.

And a pic of a installation.

I am waiting for my z to get here in Hawaii and then I will get in tuned and denied finally. The car will be here this next week. I will finally be able to get some numbers for all of you.

Why a BS mod!! JUN has a dyno graph on their site, look it up. A reputable company like them can't be making these for fun and giggles. Just because you dont see a Z owner post a dyno sheet on the forums doesn't mean they don't exist. JUN is popular over that side of the world and am sure this mod is as well.

BTW, they have two different duration cams now.

Navyboy916 10-27-2013 02:18 PM

I have the cam installed in my z and even without a tune I love them. So much power all the way to redline. I will get it dynoed as soon as the car gets here and I can schedule it. I will them post the results. I have the 272 duration cams btw

Man, I must say you have heart . To spend the amount of money and the amount of time on this build, for maybe an additional 20whp on top of the whp gains from the bolt ons is insane, lol. I hope you make 350whp, but that may be a little too optimistic. Anxious to see the results.

Navyboy916 10-27-2013 02:27 PM

I am hoping to and I am also hoping that this will help others to make a decision on what they want to do with their z's. I just don't think people understand how difficult this cam install amounts to. But, when all said and done I love my build and hope others will join me in the complete NA build

Honestly, that is one reason why I like pushrod engines. Look how easy it easy to swap a cam on a pushrod compared to over head cams like ours. So I'm just curious, what WHP are you expecting or hoping for? And if its not achieved, will the build and experience still be with it? I'm hoping you make decent torque. These car are weaksauce when it comes to TQ.

Navyboy916 10-27-2013 03:55 PM

I am hoping around 340-360 hp and 300 tq. Yes I believe that even if I don't make those numbers I think it's still worth the build. I would love to dyno these cams and then swap the higher duration cams and see the comparison. When I visited JUN in Japan earlier this year the knowledge and dedication they have is so eye opening. JUN has been around for so long and with their experience and R&D I can only see great things from these cams.

You gonna spray bro? I am looking to get my short block built and I might throw one of these cams in with the spray.

Navyboy916 10-27-2013 08:56 PM

No spray for me.

Navyboy916 10-31-2013 02:42 PM

I will have results for the cams on sat. I am getting it dynoed then

mag_black 10-31-2013 09:14 PM

Are you posting here or your own thread? I hope you make your goal numbers -- not just for you, but for every other Z owner here.
