I really don't care, just busting balls...

I'm going to look into how hard the install is... 20+hours as many have quoted it a little... Moronic for the gains it supposedly provides...
But at the same time... When you're maxed out, you have no choice

Who was the other member the DID install them?

The Dimer 01-10-2013 11:58 AM

CTD-Germany is working on a car with them installed, but they have quite a bit of extra work done too.

It a lot more complex then just dropping the cams in. Don't be fooled from anyone telling you it's an easy swap.

ZKraken22 01-24-2013 03:31 PM

Any updates?

Navyboy916 01-24-2013 03:32 PM

Hell yes man check out my thread that's where I am posting everything. You will like what you see I think

John's sweet NA build

Shorty's6 07-01-2013 12:06 AM

Will these fit a g37?

Navyboy916 07-01-2013 12:28 AM

Yes they will fit its the same engine

Did we ever see any evidence that these cams did anything good?

Navyboy916 07-01-2013 03:18 PM

Yes I did. The cars screams to redline now and has a lot of power at top end. I can't dyno the car due to Guam not having a dyno. I am leaving to Hawaii soon and they have a couple of dynos and uprev tuners so I will be getting it done there. I know the car makes a lot more power then it did when it was in the stock format. I have the 272 duration cams and now they have larger cams so they will make even more power.

Silo 07-01-2013 03:41 PM

Looking forward to see some dyno comparisson.

Navyboy916 07-01-2013 03:51 PM

I am to I can't wait to get the numbers.

GEMu 10-26-2013 02:05 PM

Many Z34 here in BKK did the JUN cam, one of a guy I know installed the cam along with
an IMPUL throttle body and yield around 350whp on Dynojet so it hard to say where did the extra 20-30whp came from.
That Z got a custom stright pipe from headers, F con Vpro3.3 dyno tuned by one of the most famous race car tuner in Thailand, racing suction with HKS filter and IMPUL throttle bodies.
350whp on dyno jet in tropical climate like BKK is not too bad IMO, but the owner said the installation was PITA.

That's actually quite good -- even with headers and a tune. Do you have a link to the dynos, by any chance?

SPOHN 10-26-2013 03:34 PM

This has to be the most BS mod period. Not the cams put the point that a couple of guys have installed or attempted to with no proven results. Swear I'm about to do it to get something proven for once.

Honestly for me I think it a waste of money, especially for you guys over there with that rate of labor, here in Thailand I would say a cam swap in a Z34 would cost 100USD max, depending on if the shop is famous or not.

Sadly, a friend of mine already sell his car for a 430Scud and had not document his dyno run or keep a sheet, but he said the baseline was 285whp and after all the mods installed he claimed 350whp on dynojet.

20 more whp from normal full bolt ons, for 500USD on cams set and 3000USD on IMPULs plus US labor, you decide if this worth.

And a pic of a installation.

Navyboy916 10-27-2013 02:47 AM

I am waiting for my z to get here in Hawaii and then I will get in tuned and denied finally. The car will be here this next week. I will finally be able to get some numbers for all of you.

Why a BS mod!! JUN has a dyno graph on their site, look it up. A reputable company like them can't be making these for fun and giggles. Just because you dont see a Z owner post a dyno sheet on the forums doesn't mean they don't exist. JUN is popular over that side of the world and am sure this mod is as well.

BTW, they have two different duration cams now.

Navyboy916 10-27-2013 02:18 PM

I have the cam installed in my z and even without a tune I love them. So much power all the way to redline. I will get it dynoed as soon as the car gets here and I can schedule it. I will them post the results. I have the 272 duration cams btw

Man, I must say you have heart . To spend the amount of money and the amount of time on this build, for maybe an additional 20whp on top of the whp gains from the bolt ons is insane, lol. I hope you make 350whp, but that may be a little too optimistic. Anxious to see the results.

Navyboy916 10-27-2013 02:27 PM

I am hoping to and I am also hoping that this will help others to make a decision on what they want to do with their z's. I just don't think people understand how difficult this cam install amounts to. But, when all said and done I love my build and hope others will join me in the complete NA build

Honestly, that is one reason why I like pushrod engines. Look how easy it easy to swap a cam on a pushrod compared to over head cams like ours. So I'm just curious, what WHP are you expecting or hoping for? And if its not achieved, will the build and experience still be with it? I'm hoping you make decent torque. These car are weaksauce when it comes to TQ.

Navyboy916 10-27-2013 03:55 PM

I am hoping around 340-360 hp and 300 tq. Yes I believe that even if I don't make those numbers I think it's still worth the build. I would love to dyno these cams and then swap the higher duration cams and see the comparison. When I visited JUN in Japan earlier this year the knowledge and dedication they have is so eye opening. JUN has been around for so long and with their experience and R&D I can only see great things from these cams.

V8Killer 10-27-2013 08:46 PM

You gonna spray bro? I am looking to get my short block built and I might throw one of these cams in with the spray.

Navyboy916 10-27-2013 08:56 PM

No spray for me.

Navyboy916 10-31-2013 02:42 PM

I will have results for the cams on sat. I am getting it dynoed then

mag_black 10-31-2013 09:14 PM

Are you posting here or your own thread? I hope you make your goal numbers -- not just for you, but for every other Z owner here.

andre12031948 10-31-2013 09:26 PM

I'm NOT going to read this one

My head might explode...

Navyboy916 10-31-2013 10:21 PM

Thanks I hope I make good numbers as well. I posted on this cause of the cams I have and I know people want to know what the cams can do.

brucelidat 11-02-2013 12:12 PM

Did zuperman ever get these installed? If so, what did he have to also install with them and what gains did he end up with?

Navyboy916 11-02-2013 02:54 PM

At the dyno shop will post after

brucelidat 11-02-2013 04:13 PM

I know your status, just wondering if Zuperman ever installed them. Your mod list is way to extensive (and awesome) for us to gauge the benefits of the cams alone.

Navyboy916 11-02-2013 04:23 PM

Zuperman sold his cams is what I heard

brucelidat 11-02-2013 04:30 PM

Ah, okay. I didn't keep up with the thread. As far as I know, you are the only Z owner to have them installed then.

SPOHN 11-02-2013 04:32 PM

What other parts were needed for this install?

brucelidat 11-02-2013 04:35 PM

Navyboy's list is extensive. He didn't just do the cams and supporting mods for them only.

edub370 11-03-2013 08:34 AM

Ahhhh!! the wait is killing me! what did you make?

boned 11-05-2013 04:07 PM

any numbers for us?
