yeh me to, you guys think it will make a differance in car sound, and if so how do you think it will change it?

Jordo! 03-07-2012 02:55 AM

I doubt it will change the sound all that much. Idle might be a bit different tho'.

zuperman 370 03-07-2012 03:25 AM

so if i get the pistons and change them along with the cams, will that yeild more HP gains? should i go for the cams alone?

You'll definitely get more power out of another point of compression, but that's pretty much a full rebuild if you are taking out the pistons too. You'll have to break the motor in again as well.

NYBladeZ 03-07-2012 09:21 AM

new pistons will require new injectors and a lot of other support work...

Yeah that's what I meant. I'd love to hear an aggressive idle on a 370z :D

I know the stock cam on the 350Z has a duration of 248, but I'm not sure if they changed it for the 370Z.

If you can get away with it, change as little as possible and swap just the cams. The before and after dynos will let us know how much power they are good for. Once you throw in those pistons then part of the power is in the pistons and part of the power is in cams. We need to be able to differenciate one from the other as much as possible.
