Ok so I just called Nissan for a quote on the labor for installing these cams and installing new valve springs. I asked and the guy put me on hold, when he came back he said thyley don't do that there. So a very reputable Nissan dealership doesn't do any engine work on there own car's. That's good to know!!!

They designed these cams for a collaboration car with a customer/partner shop of theirs, so that's why you unfortunately see a fully modded motor being used with the cams. This is the car that the cams were spec'd on: http://www.the370z.com/exterior-inte...er-design.html

Somebody in here needs to make like a Nike shoe and

"JUST DO IT!"

At the very least, those wondering what gains they would get from a full N/A build now have an answer. High comp pistons, rods, exhaust yields only 25whp gain. I know details are missing but that doesn't seem worth it to me.

I am this close to ordering these cams, just need some1 to point me in the right direction and tell me what it is I need to buy exactly will buying the cams be enough or will I have to buy the package that jun suggested ? The sooner u guys answer me the sooner I'll pull the trigger on these bad boys :D

zuperman 370 03-05-2012 03:07 PM

Your best bet is to call Jun. I imagine you need the package they specced out.

zuperman 370 03-05-2012 03:22 PM

I contacted jun and they did not provide much information other than the package please some one chime in

NYBladeZ 03-05-2012 03:24 PM

You shouldn't need anything more than the cams and an uprev tune (might not need that). Jun is going to recommend the entire package, that's how they make their $.

zuperman 370 03-05-2012 03:35 PM

So these cams will work just fine with the oem springs etc? Won't I need support mods

NYBladeZ 03-05-2012 03:45 PM

It should work with oem springs but I would throw down for some aftermarket springs. I don't think you'll need to modify the valves and heads otherwise. If I was doing this I would go into it with springs, cams and most importantly a tuner I trust because this has not been done before outside of Jun.

Interesting......sub'd.

zuperman 370 03-05-2012 03:52 PM

Where can I purchase aftermarket springs ? And what brand and specs must they be?

Red__Zed 03-05-2012 03:54 PM

Realistically speaking, it makes sense to run their package...the question is whether you actually need to replace the VVEL actuator, which is the only really expensive part...

NYBladeZ 03-05-2012 03:59 PM

The issue surrounding the need for aftermarket springs is an unknown factor. Also it is important to find out what tuning solution Jun used. If these cams require Jun's own tuning program exclusively I'd pass.
