Nitrous Install

I have a mechanic installing a ZEX nitrous kit on my 370z. He had a few questions about the install...

1. Do how do you mount the nozzles on the intake tubes. I have Injen long tube intakes and the tube wall is pretty thin on them, if you have mounted this yourself, let me know how and how solid it has been for you.

2. If I wanted to do the 100 shot, In your opinion/Experience, Do I need to change the timing.

Thank you, I posted these questions on another thread but had no answers come back, so I started a new one.

I'd be a little nervous if my mechanic was asking these questions. I think most people have a professional mechanic do certain installs because they want to rely on the mechanic's experience. Just something to consider.

you might want to consult the manufacturer, that way if something happens you should be covered.

He works on some pretty nice cars at the mercedes dealership, but has never done a nitrous install. He said it is easy enough, he justed wanted to make sure the spray nozzles are very solidly mounted. and wanted to know what guys were doing for timing with a hundred shot thats all. (In your experience) also, if anyone has a pic of their intake, thatd be great.

Please be smart and save yourself the 10K on a new motor by either: (1) taking the car to a person with relevant experience or (2) avoiding the nitrous kit altogether. :ugh2:

I'm doing my own nitrous install and honestly if your mechanic who works on high end cars cannot read the manual or figure out nozzle placement you better run.. It's really that simple ... GOOD LUCK !!!!!

Do a search on nitrous install and u will see my pics ...

We looked at the instructions, and just figured that the way the nozzles were mounted seemed a little flimsy.

erkthejerk73 02-08-2012 01:53 PM

can you post pics?

I don't know why people on this forum are so against nitrous. I've ran nitrous on many of my past cars with no issues. If you take the correct safety precautions theirs is no reason why nitrous isn't a safe and reliable power adder. But you need a competent installer. (not saying yours is not)

NeverBoneStck install is looking very good and super clean. I would follow his build and make changes that fit your needs.
