Z suddenly loses power, almost got in car accident this morning

Got the car back and it drives fine. The dealer scanned the car and got the code P0340-Camshaft position sensor. They told me that one of the fuse had blown

The dealer scanned the car and got the code P0340-Camshaft position sensor. They told me that one of the fuse had blown in the sensor? Even though the repair was covered under the warranty, I still can't not help thinking why the sensor failed on a car with only 23k miles. As far as the oil temp, I will continue monitor it tomorrow.
