Mishimoto thermostat bashers
I have had Mishimoto thermostats in 2 Z's - a 2007 and a 2011 both of which were/are raced frequently. No issues. If/when I change up to a cooler radiator I may blow the $ on a Nismo part but until then the Mishimoto works just fine. And for any bashers of the part - how about a pointer to a real URL for a problem not just anecdotal comments??? IE if the problem happened to you then that is evidence, if you heard about it somewhere that is not evidence...

The OEM Nissan thermostat is cheaper than Mishimoto. As far as experience, why not ask O&G how his looked when he took it out? Or his buddy, who lost a motor when his failed shut? Or the guy here who dumped all his oil on the road because their sandwich plate failed? |
Ill post the pics up in here when I get to work. I feel sorry for anyone running mishimoto parts! Go China :/

I don't have any sympathy for anyone who has a catastrophic failure of their parts at this point. There's plenty of end user feedback that would tell most rational individuals to stay away. Using their parts now is simply a complete failure to do any research or being too cheap. |

Even better is their customer service. When one member here had a major failure of their sandwich plate that could have taken out his motor, they mailed him a new O-ring. :rofl2: Weeks after they claimed to have sent it out. And then their VP of Douchebaggery came in and likened the whole thing to the Challenger disaster.

Here we go. Found it. Anyone who can read this and still use their products is mentally defective. |
I will never let anyone I care about use Mishimoto products after seeing their thermostat fail on a good friends motor, causing it to blow. He sold the car and retired from the modding scene. I also had their thermostat fail, but I was more fortunate and didn't loose the motor.
Mishimoto is on the left w/ 4k miles on it, Stock unit is on right w/ 6k miles on it........... as you can see the O-ring seal is already gone on the mishimoto while the stock unit looks fine. QUALITY matters. http://i251.photobucket.com/albums/g...psd600efb7.jpg Forums are here to inform, throw some truth at the readers! |

I'm from Houston also guys, should I add an oil cooler kit? I heard it can blow the motor if the hose break?

We actually just had a G37 customer come in who lost all his oil due to his Mishimoto core cracking, luckily he didn't loose the motor! |
thanks for the info guys!!! How about during winter time...will it be a overkill ? How will the engine warm up?
Sorry I'm new to all this mod stuff. |
