WORST DAY!!!! Possible engine blown???!!!!

Worst facking days guys!!! i was cruzin on the freeway (not racing) and all of a sudden i hear a SCARY sound like lifters staring to knock or something so i slow down to listen if its serious and all of a sudden i hear a crazy sound like something snapped under the hood and it died, the engine stopped and all the warning lights went on... i was lucky i had enough speed to move to the side of the road. Now my Z wont start and there is no visual sing of something broken, belts etc... So its definitely internal. It was running perfectly yesterday. the thing that stresses me the fack out is my minor mods/bolt ons i have im scared they'll say my warranty wont cover it. and my car is at Nissan i got it towed there.

The only thing i did 2 days ago is add a paint of Royal Purple synth cuz i was low on oil a bit.

p.s. the 2x4 was to get my Z on the bed lol looks like a murder scene or something.

hope everything turns out OK man.

Is that fluid from your car?

SPOHN 05-07-2011 09:24 PM

That baby might have a hole in the block. I wouldn't see why the mods would void the warrenty in this case. In for results. Do you have a oil cooler that might of came loose and cause to leak? Could be several things. How many miles?

Where did my post go? Oh well.

Hope you can get some pics from under the car? If it's on the bottom end I'm leaning towards a rod bearing.

Yeah thats what i think cuz at first it sounded light like a lifter and all of a sudden it was really knocking and i didn't even have time to get on the side of the road it snapped hard!

Westwood 05-07-2011 09:32 PM

So if its a rod they'll do a rebuilt or give me a used engine???

SPOHN 05-07-2011 09:34 PM

No reason you shouldn't get a brand new shortblock.

Holyshit, 11,200 miles?

Good luck with everything man !!!

I don't think your car would have leaned out that bad from your mods. I've seen the Stillen G3s cause the car to lean a little, but not enough to warrant detonation, at least not to the point of the engine going kaboom.

Were you able to look under the car at all? It could be a hole in the block, oil pan, or your oil filter came loose from not correctly tightening. You also said you were low on oil, did you do your own oil change and use a new copper gasket and make sure the drain plug was properly tightened?

Good luck.
